The truth about Bugti's death revelead?/Bugti was killed by himself- Haqqani (merged)

This had already been claimed by the army before. Seems plausible, that an errant RPG could have caused this. No other way a high ranking col would have been killed if this was a real operation.

‘Akbar Bugti caused the explosion that led to his death’

LAHORE: A close aide of late Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti has claimed that a rocket fired by Bugti caused the explosion that led to the nationalist leader’s death. “When security forces entered the cave where he (Bugti) was hiding, he attempted to fend them off by firing a shell. This caused a massive explosion, which resulted in the cave-in that led to the death of Bugti, one colonel, two majors and three commandoes,” Wadera Muhammad Murad Bugti told a private TV channel. He said the late Bugti had decided that he would rather die fighting than surrender to the security forces. “When forces besieged his cave on August 26, 2006, he asked his comrades to leave the cave and let him fight them alone,” he added. daily times monitor

Re: The truth about Bugti's death revelead?

So the security forces went there just to say 'Hi'?

Re: The truth about Bugti's death revelead?

To negotiate his (or maybe their own with their track record) surrender

Re: The truth about Bugti's death revelead?

Bugti was a thug as best & got what he deserved. This is one good thing Mushrraf did. All these Balochi sardars are responsible for miserly of their people & if Blaoch awaam wants to blame anyone they should blame these thugs who have oppressed them for so long.

Re: The truth about Bugti's death revelead?

I just feel sorry for the loss of Colonel & Major.

Rest Bughti deserve hell and he went their straight, ..now Baramdagh Bughti should be too !

Re: The truth about Bugti's death revelead?

I fail to see how killing of Bluch sardars would bring the Baluchis out of oppression. It only adds to the hatred they have for the rest of Pakistan. Its true that Baluch sardars have not given anything to their people... but have we?

There is a thing called “arrest” :faizy:

Re: The truth about Bugti's death revelead?

^ Did you follow the operation? Any place would be bombed on a hint of Bugti being there.

The three Baluch leaders recently murdered were apparently under "arrest".

BUGTI was ex Chief Minister of a Province of Pakistan. Killing him was not the solution to Balochistan problem. His extra judicial murder has created a sense of deprivement in Balochistan. No doubt he was misguided but then again, boming him to death was not the right approach

I wish he was arrested and trialed in court of law.

Another version is they were killed by their own friends over the issue of money, which they collected from Pakistan Government as bargain for the releasing of John Soloski....

One of the leader, Ghulam Muhammad Balouch also had arrest warrants in Iran,..

Pakistan Intelligence Agencies are not idiot's, .. to throw their bodies like that,.. they should be vanished :)

Re: The truth about Bugti's death revelead?

I have zero sympathy for traitors like Akbar Bugti who took advantage of every benefit that came from the state of Pakistan - from Governorships to modern amenities but all these sardars kept their people like slaves just like their ancestors did.

I can understand frustrations of unemployed Baloch youth, people cheated by land mafia or Balochistan not getting due royalties, gas connections etc.

But taking up arms with aim of creating another Bangladesh is not justified. Poverty and injustice exists all across Pakistan and these SArdars and their foreign masters need to be exterminated with extreme prejudice.

Good riddance!

Its not a matter of sympathy, but of pragmatism. The death of any Pakistani citizen is nothing to be satisfied over.

If you can not bring someone like Bugti back in to the political process, someone who has sat in the company of nuwabzada nasrullah & PML & PPP, MQM, etc, how can you bring a militant sardaar into it who has never known national prominence ?

If there is something to be learnt from East Pakistan is that you cant solve problems by killing people. Even if they are irreconcilable, you would rather render them politically impotent instead of murdering them.

I doubt the underprivileged youth you have sympathy for would be thrilled at Bhugtis death, instead it has provided a focal point for the release of angst accumulated over the years. Just like the Rape of the lady doctor proved to be a catalyst. It has to be a carrot and a stick policy.

I blame Mush for mishandling the situation.

I agree what you said but killers of a thug are like killers of an innocent. No law allows killing of any one.

Very Balanced Opinion,

and also I would like to tell Bugti Haters that Akbar Bugti was the leader from Balochistan who fought against the Baloch separatist in 1970's and supported Pakistan

Its a Pity that Musharraf mishandled the situation

Some trigger happy kids like shami2k and others have no idea what they are talking about. To them Pakistan is like a video game with all the killing and violence...and they want to shoot all to score max point! How Childish!

Good post. Bugti should have had a trial.

Very true but correct me if im wrong, did nt Bugti take up weapons and become a active part of the insurgency?

I am sure he did it because of no option, and a little "push" from those "based" in Afghanistan.

Bugti was just another thug who thought nothing of squandering balochistans wealth and allowing his people to live such a poor existence. He was a cruel man and anyone who suffered under him, would probably be happy to see what goes around comes around.

When you get past the political theory of how we should bring people back into the political process you have to remember that Bugti started pointing the gun at Pakistan ans became a threat to it. If you were a soldier in that situation what would you do?

He became a traitor. There are many traitors of different forms in Pakistan but when one turns on the state violently theres only got to be one response.

Its easy to talk of political prcoesses when the gun is not at your head!

I suppose its only the agencies which can abduct them from a COURT and you find them dead after a few days.

The way they have been dealing with Baluch issue, i am not very sure about the sanity of the 'Intelligence' agencies.

Wrong, they were captured from a retired lawyer office according to an account.

One of three had a warrant issued in Iran, so this is not only Balouch issue, the road is goes way too far.

Again, Intelligence Agencies are not idiots to leave them like that. If they captured them from the court according to you, then they can vanished them too.

Either they were traitors are not, but we just can't leave this behind that International Powers has interest their.

Kudo's to Security Forces & Intelligence Agencies on their resistance so far to divide Pakistan in 5+ pieces !

Only if you could read...according to the article posted he blew himself up when he fired RPG killing soldiers too.

Care to expalin how? To have trial you have to arrest somone 1st.
