Bearded mullahs that sexually molest children, men (they are badtameez) who dont stop their thaank jhaank even at the sign of a burqah, women who smoke openly, families who insist on speaking in tooti phooti English to look modran, aunties demanding jehez from girls' families to pay for their sons' education, Pakistani fashion is a disgrace to Muslims around the world, Pakistani men screw around more then any other qaum I know and then insist on marrying drumroll.............a nice little Pakistan girl (Exhibit A being McPendo who keeps posting threads on how to get inside some girl's house to kiss her in exchange for fixing her computer), lazy ladies of leisure who do nothing aside from bossing some maasiyan around and planning their next outfit...............THIS is your respectful culture?????
Ive seen more class in the dirty south.
I think I'll pass. Thanks but no thanks.
um what?
I understand people defending stupid stereotypes about abcd's and goris, but what is this?
Why the need to insult Pakistani women all the time?
Someone else saying in another thread how THEY think Pakistani women are intellectually inferior?
Like really?
And then cry about being stereotyped against?
And are you really a mod saying stuff like that all.the.time? Very bitter, no?
Re: The Taming of the shrew
Its simply a matter of looking at one's own issues before pointing fingers in another's direction.
I do not like this perma-label of ABD's and white girls being easy and slutty.
No, Im not bitter at all. In fact, I have many friends who were born and raised in Pak but live here.
However, if someone will judge me because of my birthplace then what is wrong with calling out their faults?
^Well women in Pakistan are better than most American born desi girls here so yeah i would perfer that my daughters be raised in Pakistan where they would learn the culture better and they wouldn't go around on dates and kissing boys! Tell me PCG if your father found out that you were kissing a boy, would you think he would just laugh and say keep doing or would he be mad at you?
you shouldn't generalize. i've lived my whole life here and i've never kissed a boy.

just because ONE moron in this thread (i do not see anyone else supporting him) is making absurd statements does NOT give you the right malign the entire Pakistani population and call its culture worse then the "dirty south"!? WTF!? insult him all you want, for his PERSONAL views but do NOT include the entire population of Pakistan in your rants. a little objectivity goes a long way.
i have noticed this trend on GS, some idiot makes off-hand comments based on his own weird outlook and suddenly everyone starts dragging and shredding Pakistan to pieces. so sick of it, bash each other all you want for your warped personal views but do NOT malign Pakistan in its entirety, the rest of the world is already doing it, lets give it some respect. so very sad.
Re: The Taming of the shrew
The problem is we all know people in real life who think exactly like him. His opinions are actually fairly common. A lot of families go back to Pakistan to find girls, because America ki larkiyan bohat "taiz" hain.
Every girl here can relate to his comments and are showing a strong reaction, its because we deal with these prejudices daily - they determine a lot of how our lives run.
So yeah. The girls here are angry. Justifiably so. You don't have to deal with one family after another at rishta parade looking at you and making assumptions about you because you were born abroad somewhere. So you would not understand it, until you go through it on the behalf of a relative at some point.

Good.
If this person is considered generalizing, then what are others doing?
Exactly the same thing!!!!
There will never be any solid conclusion here since there is no stats or scientific way of finding a truth in this kind of situation.
1- Just because some people do bad things openly does not mean there are not people who do bad things secretly. I think if one critically analyse McPendo statements it appears thast he sees free availibility of sexual opportunities in west as negative factor but he has to realize that these opportunities were always there in Pakistan but not so openly.
2- Just as there are very chaste girls who are brought up in western, christian cultures, there are not so chaste girls in very conservative muslim Pakistani families.
3- Lastly, there are very good girls from Pakistani families brought up in west and in Pakistan with not so religious minded families.
It all depends what kind of families one goes around to look for a rishta.
McPendo has his mind set because of his so called experiences but his approach is totally off limit. Maybe, he hanged around in wrong crowd. If one hangs around in wrong places in Pakistan then one will only get the bad impression as well.
If he wants to look for a 'good' girl based on his experiences then it OK but he should not generalize ALL women from western culture.
Let him find out himself.
mcPendo.....why dont u graduate college first and THEN reevaluate your stupidass assumptions?
I know where you live
Letters are white! :-)
Re: The Taming of the shrew
I see no taming going on here kids.
Re: The Taming of the shrew
Pendo will be Pendo
Re: The Taming of the shrew
you know what amazes me? the ones who dislike the west the most (meaning western born and raised individuals, western education, western television, etc) are the same people who are sitting in the west, in their western homes and have western passports. these same individuals have no issues reaping the benefits western governments provide, yet at the same time, they dislike the west. seriously, get on a plane and go back to Pakistan.
and if you honestly think there are girls in pakistan who don't date, don't sleep around, girls in pakistan are all honest, seedhi saadhi, don't speak back, don't have brains, don't have opinions and don't voice them with confidence, then you will be in for a rude awakening when you return.
if you want crap, you will find it wherever you go. you will find it in the west, you will find it in the east. it all comes down to what YOU are looking for.
Re: The Taming of the shrew
You know what I hate? The very same people you described blatantly saying bad things about Pakistan and Pakistanis. So what if you have a western passport, does not give you the right to say bad things about the country your parents are from.
Re: The Taming of the shrew
I think Mehnaz is saying that in Pakistan, there are women of questionable character and that it is wrong to assume otherwise. I don't think she's saying Pakistanis from Pakistan are horrible.
Re: The Taming of the shrew
Oh ok sorry I jumped to conclusions Gudiya. I am a bit touchy about the country I am from. Pakistanis in general are not horrid people agreed and lot's of things happen in Pakistan as well. Only a blind person will be oblivious of them. It's everywhere but where there is bad there is good as well.
I see no taming going on here kids.
PCG cannot be tamed. She's a wild beast! I give up no more wasting time on this thread.
Re: The Taming of the shrew
I don't think so she is a wild beast. She might have a tough no nonsense exterior but I believe she has a really good heart. A guy will be lucky to have her, because she has not been doing any hanky panky in her single life and is pretty much a one man girl.
I go to places like Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad and see and hear stories about what is going on there and then I see Pakistani girls here in UK and the claim that 'desi ladki jo Pakistan may grow up hoti hai shareef hoti hai' is utterly laughable.
The amount of ayaashi that goes on in Pakistan is unbelievable. It has nothing to do with being raised in a western country. It has all do with how a kid is brought up.
Re: The Taming of the shrew
I agree wholeheartedly with you Shak09.
Stop assuming my friend.
Oh the irony.
Again folks, you are wasting your energy on a kid that wouldn't know irony if it hit him in the face, that's the level of intellect you are dealing with here, and you expect him to respond to logic?
