The reason why I converted to Islam

Yes jhoot is a major sin and a muslim can drink wine, commit zina but he/she cannot lie.
Now I don't remember any jhoot that has been told by psyah.

Tayyebeh who was apparantly raised by German parents when she was 11 months old and then never went back to India but she knows how to speak and type Urdu/Hindi as well as Punjabi because she "just picked it up" from "bollywood" and her Indian/Pakistani friends. And lots of other things that she's been writing in her previous threads.

Seriously I don't buy her story. I'm shocked that you do.

Believing in Tayyebeh's story is not the 6th pillar of Islam so don't make it a fiqh issue.

Re: The reason why I converted to Islam

^ No one is making a fiqh issue, hareem01.

I am really interested in knowing the answer to the question posed by Tayebbah and if Psyah is so sadiq and knows what he claims he does then he really should not have any difficulty answering that. It is really that simple.

If you don't find Tayebbah's story plausible, good for you. No need for going after anyone who differs with you.

Re: The reason why I converted to Islam

^Which question are you talking about?

I think he has already answered the question.....the way you write and what you write tell not everything but a lot about you.

btw psyah is not the only person who's having doubts about her so called story.

Re: The reason why I converted to Islam

I know some words and phrases in Urdu, but I couldn't type down a whole paragraph, not without mistakes...but yeah since none of you folks knows German no one here could test me anyways whether I'm capable of speaking it or not...Plus there is no need for that. Oh yeah and the area I come from in India, Urdu/Hindi isn't even spoken there so I wouldn't have been raised Hindi/Urdu speaking either way.

Feel free to believe whatever you wish I don't have to prove anything to any of you people.

On what basis you are comparing LIE OR JHUT with Zina and Sharab??? And considering it as major sin??? Please enlighten us...

tayyebah, your story brought tears in my eyes...

congrats sis!

Yes, you cannot repay to Almighty God for HIS blessings upon you...

I pray for u to spend a peaceful and successful life!

Jeeti raho :)

QUOTE]

They are all major sins Hareem, I don't think in Islam there is a comparison to them either but then you might prove me wrong again and give an example. In saying that Intoxication by far is alot more worse then jhoot in my opinion and a few would agree with me as it makes you lie anyway, you are not to pray while intoxicated and many un-wonderful things like more opne to Satan's handiwork.

Wonderful story Tayyebeh, may Allah keep you protected from all evil.

i don't like proving others wrong but what i said was based on a hadith.
*The Prophet was once asked about various actions which Islam forbids and whether a believer may commit any of these. He said that a believer may be guilty of such forbidden things as theft, adultery and drinking intoxicants, but a believer cannot tell a lie. *

Tayebbeh
I don't want to say anything in addition either....we can leave it until we meet in hereafter on the day of judgement.

In case you missed hareem01 this question:

***quote=Tayyebeh]I know we are heading OT here, but I'm seriously interested how you can tell from the behaviour of someone ON THE INTERNET where he/she is from or lets say NOT from.
[/quote]
*

But you need not be so concerned about it. Psycah should be perfectly able to unequivocally answer this question -or else refrain from making outrageous claims in the future.

And btw I never said Psycah is the only one disputing Tayyebeh’s version of events. He stated his opinion. I did mine. Now he should also be able to back what he said with facts. Period.

So my opinion was not so ridiculous after all.

:hoonh:

Re: The reason why I converted to Islam

^

When I was in middle school there was an African American student.....who could sing almost all the words to the classic Indian song, "Churaliya hai tum ne." The girl had no desi roots.

I've taught a couple of students to say phrases in urdu....and I've picked up a little bit of Spanish from them. I don't have Hispanic roots....and although I only know bits and phrases.....one of my Hispanic students once told me that I speak Spanish better than native speakers of the language.

I know an arab woman who can speak a little bit of urdu she picked up from movies and her desi husband. She once told me that she "must have been a desi in a past life."

*********** Often times actors have to learn a foreign language for a movie and they are able to speak that language with surprising fluency and with the correct accent.

******* I've noticed that when people have a genuine and sincere interest in learning and acquiring a new language or culture...........it's not an impossible goal to accomplish.

It takes courage for someone to talk about their personal life on a public forum. Whether or not Tayyebeh is telling the truth is between her and God. Although....anybody....who feels the need to fabricate such stories just to get attention is one disturbed individual. And I doubt that many people would deliberately lie about converting to another religion.

What I don't understand is why can't we be happy for another person. Why can't we make the effort to diplay a positive image of ourselves as Muslims? By doing so...we might even invite others to think about Islam seriously. Muslim converts need support from other Muslims. Accusing them of lying is not being supportive...it's making us look bad. Even if one assumes that Tayyebeh is lying.....it still won't kill one to give her the benefit of the doubt and be supportive and encouraging. BECAUSE.........there could possibly be non-muslims on the brink of converting who could be reading this thread.......and might feel encouraged by everyone's welcoming and supportive response. Or on the contrary....they might feel DISHEARTENED/DISCOURAGED by the negative reactions of some Muslims on here.

Instead of debating whether lying is a bigger sin than drinking and fornicating....let's think about how we're presenting ourselves. Even in a potentially negative situation........we have the choice of either displaying a positive image of ourselves.........or a negative image of ourselves.

Re: The reason why I converted to Islam

^ Bang on target as always Red Velvet. Of course some people always try to find flaws in others while conveniently turning a blind eye to their own.

No one is perfect. And it is about time we showed others a little more tolerance.

may be that person never converted.

anyway i did support her until i realize few things about her other posts....

U are absolutely right brother. Some ppls really do this.

yahooo .yes you're right whoever you are.

Re: The reason why I converted to Islam

I don't have to believe everything the thread starter said just because she "converted" to my religion. I'd only believe if I can see her interview on youtube. This is my personal opinion and a logical one and it shouldn't put anyone off from Islam.

i regret posting in this thread and i request mods to delete all of my posts.

I completely second this. Tayyebah, thanks for sharing your story with us. It was a very inspiring read :k:

It truly is a logical opinion indeed, Hareem.

Up until now, I had no idea that an** interview** on Youtube was a prerequisite to earning a solid badge of credibility....an unquestionable sign of honesty.

You've got me worried now. What about all those ancient historians and scientists who etched their indisputably brilliant theories on slabs of stone???? They're long dead and gone and never got a chance to give an interview on Youtube! They must all be liars......or perhaps they're insane. Or perhaps modern civilization is nuts for continuing to believe them when they never even gave an interview for Youtube!

I feel as though the very ground beneath my feet has slipped away from me. My once secure world is crumbling apart. All that I had learned and heard in my life PRIOR to the invention of Youtube is nothing but a mere SHAM! Isaac Newton.....what a fool he was to believe that gravity is a true phenomenon simply because an apple fell on him. He would be more truthful if he had given a Youtube Interview stating that the Earth is Flat and that pigs can fly.

Oh Hareem, I am so indebted to you for opening my mind up to the TRUTH. Up until now, I had mainly used youtube for music and movies. But now I know better. Youtube is the emblem of all that is true, reasonable, accurate, and wholesome! Thank you so much :)

PS.....I'm sure there must be youtube interviews on conversion to Hinduism, Buddhism, even Atheism. Now I'm confused....since people NEVER *lie youtube........which *"truth" shall I believe? Tried and trusted method: eeny meeny miney mo.
