i dont know about you but people as me these why questions that why you wear scarf? why muslims don’t eat pork or non-Zabiha meat? why alcohol is prohibited?..etc
and since i hate to justify my Iman, so first i tell them its not permissible in my religion and second i tell them scientific reasoning.
i dont think that brother NBN even know why its haraam

You have completely missed the point of the thread...
Quite frankly eating Pork isnt nearly as bad a sin as drinking or adultery...drinking incurs lashes and adultery incurs death...is there even a punishment for eating pork?...
Now to clarify im not suggesting that eating pork isnt haram...off course it is...my thread simply discusses the fact that it seems like the one thing most Muslims dont do...so you will have drunkards who fornicate who still dont eat pork...
Not only is it not something consumed by Muslims who commit all other sins but it is also seen as an important way of judging ones faith...
So the worst Muslims for some strange reason are always the ones that eat Pork...lol even a paki sipping his whisky will be thinking the one that eats pork has seriously deviated...
The thread is about why does pork get so much hype when it is insignificant in comparison other sinful acts and why does it seem to be one of those few rules that Muslims universally follow...

but still i wana raise few points 
-first as i said its look disgusting!
-second health conscious people know saturation of Saturated Fat in its meat
-third Drinking is load easier as u just sip in and its goes down, whereas this you to first put in you mouth, chew and then swallow
-drinking makes you lose your senses but this i dont think gonna help u touch the so called ecstasy (whereas you always gonna think while eating it that u are having hara’am stuff. i cant really about this conscious thing about drunkards 
)
o yeah one more thing (hope this asnwers ur query)…

NBN: I think most people who understood the question have have hit the nail on the head when they say it's because people can forgo pork for other meats, whereas most other deviations don't have an alternative...
In any case it's so sad that people are so quick to judge others for what they do/don't do, whilst sinning themselves...if everyone was to sweep in front of their own front door, the world would be a much cleaner place...

...but just a question to you all...who subconsciously do you think is deviated more...the drug dealer that drinks a bit or the the normal guy that will have sausages for breakfast...subconsciously we all seem to think pork is more deviant and thats weird to me... ..
to me.....they are both just as bad....they are both haram no matter which way you look at it. Anything that is disliked by Allah (SWT) is disliked by me and should be disliked by any Muslim. Whether you are commiting that sin or not .....haram is haram and you should own up to it (admit what you are doing is wrong) and not defend it by saying one is a lesser sin then the other.

One may questions the authority of above mentioned hadith as due to ignorance many people do thesedays but once some thing ( eating pork ) is clearly prohibited in Quran , as Muslim we shouldn’t be arguing about it ……As if we argue about it , it means NazuBilAllah we aint taking Quran as the final wording of Allah SWT …
The ruling about eating pork or swine given by Allah in Quran should be enough for all us …
Every act prohibited by Quran is an evil act and man must certainly avoid it…
As a Muslim I comprehend there is no room left for this sense less debate‘ whether there is a punishment for eating pork or not ‘..
O ‘ believers when Allah is clearly stopping you from doing some evil act in Quran , it should be enough for you . Don’t you take Quran as the final verdict ?

Ms i dont come here to impose my knowledge rather my main focus is learning. we all are human, and we do mistakes. i never claim to be perfect and perfect is only ALLAH SWT. all i m doing is trying to make him understand for my own knowledge (how to tackle different situation).
if you ever involved in the process of learning, you will find out there is not one solution to any question. there are so many possibilities exist to every question. I didnt find any poster’s answer wrong. its just brother NBN couldnt able to draw any connection to its original query of why eating it is a gravest sin, and sorry to inform you neither did you!

Yul Brynner. The great Actor...."King and I". "The Magnificient Seven" heard he died of Trichinosis..............
seems also before he died, he became a believer in Islam for the reason that it was true guidance...
Yul Brynner actually died of lung cancer....he made a very famous advertisement just prior to his death encouraging people to quit smoking.
Not sure about his conversion to Islaam but cause of death I'm quite sure. Perhaps he had Trichinosis at some point but had it cured/treated ... It IS quite serious an affliction and deadly if not treated but curable with antibiotics.

NBN is pointing out the hypocracy shown by certain segments of population that cite not eating pork with culture or religion, but does things even worse.

You have to understand that pork the food itself isn't the problem but the fact being, PIGS are the only animal that will do other males. If you leave pig meat laying around after about a few hours you'll see maggots, it's also the only animal that eats it own poop. Islamically it's forbidden because you are what you eat and that's why men here in america are turning to other men, eating ice cream chocolate poop, sweating pig oil, etc.

pork is overrated for no reason :D Its not as bad as many in here want to make you believe. Yes it is in not allowed to eat pork but yes you an talk about them and yes u can even take a look at them at the zoo. Most of us dont like to talk about it because it is on of the ugliest animals around and Islam has forbidden us to eat it.
When there is no food around and some one is starving, eating pork is permissible where alcohol is never allowed. And only Allah(swt) knows what is bad and what is worse.
