I know this thread is about ODIs...but my all time most painful defeat is India's loss to Pak in the Madras(Chennai) test match by 10-15 runs. Mr Tendulkar after having done all the good work decided to throw his wicket away when Indian had started to sniff victory. Have never forgiven Tendu for that.

I know this thread is about ODIs...but my all time most painful defeat is India's loss to Pak in the Madras(Chennai) test match by 10-15 runs. Mr Tendulkar after having done all the good work decided to throw his wicket away when Indian had started to sniff victory. Have never forgiven Tendu for that.

Not me at least. I did not expect India to win the final one bit...plus I did not watch that particular game...I was flying.
Also, going by the scoreline - after just 10-15 overs, it would have been clear to even the most ardent Indian fan which way the game was headed.

Not a bit...the 2003 final was decided after the first innings itself. Didnt think we had any chance.....but were just hoping for a miracle.
There have been so many painful defeats tht to name a single one wud be injustice. So many times India has come close to winning only to trigger collapses tht almost put me to tears. But now I have become more hardened in terms of not feeling so bad when India loses from a winning position.
But I agree with Some1...the defeat in the Chennai test was one of the most painful for me. I wasnt watching too much television when Miandad hit tht last ball six so I was spared the agony.
