Aurengzeb’s unprovoked war against the Muslim states of Golconda and Bijapur puts lie to his claims of piety.

In fact when his chief qazi issued a ruling that Shias are Muslims and therefore jihad could not be waged against Golconda and Bijapur (being Shia-ruled), Aurangzeb fired the Qazi and replaced him with a more pliant one who was willing to rule that Jihad should be waged against Shias, in order to justify his invasion.

I guess somebody here can analyize things objectively great job MS

and not to forget that aurangzaib waded in blood to the throne, not that I admire his rivals by any means but to purposely wage such wars against other muslims and kill them in thousands is not an act of piety.
Nor was his imperialistic expansions in the NWFP areas, its true that he made some concessions to keep the Ulema happy but to say that he had the same qualities befitting of a Khalifa-e-rashid is a huge exaggeration.

Not really sure but i have read of Mir Jumla a 12er from Golconda who became his trusted ally and many rajputs whom he employed in the succession wars against other muslims.
