Nehru’s telegram to Liaqat Ali Khan On 27 October 1947, the day the Indian army officially intervened in Kashmir.

Jawaharlal Nehru sent the following telegram to Liaqat Ali Khan, the Prime
Minister of Pakistan:

I should like to make it clear that the question of aiding Kashmir in this emergency is not designed in
any way to influence the State to accede to India. Our view which we have repeatedly made public
is that the question of accession in any disputed territory or State must be decided in accordance
with the wishes of people and we adhere to this view

Re: The GS peace prize - anyone??

LMAO! Aww the dog has his tail between his legs. Look at the text for that UNSC resolution. It states both have to vacate. No Pakistan first. No emphasis on Pakistan at all. Both have to

First UNCIP.
Then the UN Representative
Now this.
Man I have a PHD in kicking your ass.

Yes Nehru said this … but how was he going to conduct a vote with Pakistan occupying a part of Kashmir  That is why he took it to UN and they curtly asked Pakistani “invaders” to vacate … but then that never happened.

You have only made it till 1952 ....... you forgot that there were more resolutions after this one..... the last being the one in 1957 which clearly states UNCIP as the base for resolution of Kashmir question.

In any case you forgot that the Kashmiris themselves want to solve the issue of Kashmir through the UNCIP resolutions .... it is in the constituion of AJK :D.

Re: The GS peace prize - anyone??

Oh yeah please show that. Link the text that negates the earlier resolution. Lot of barking but no bite.

Can you prove that UNCIP is non-binding and UNSC is binding ?

Re: The GS peace prize - anyone??

Prove common knowledge? Seriously?

Since you want "proof" for common knowledge, why dont you return the favor ?

Is it documented that UNCIP is non-binding or you think so just because the language is inconvenient ??

Re: The GS peace prize - anyone??

Really where did I want proof for commen knowledge? So far I have proven you wankers wrong on every point you have made! :D

Talk about weak ass direction change now.

AB provided you the UNCIP resolution which talks about Pak having to vacate first. You said that UNCIP is non-binding. Can you prove that UNCIP is non-binding without resorting to your usual diversionary tactics ?

Re: The GS peace prize - anyone??

Once again for you, CM -

(1) When the Commission shall have notified the Government of India that the tribesmen and Pakistan nationals referred to in Part II A 2 hereof have withdrawn, thereby terminating the situation which was represented by the Government of India to the Security Council as having occasioned the presence of Indian forces in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, and further, that the Pakistan forces are being withdrawn from the State of Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India agrees to begin to withdraw the bulk of their forces from the State in stages to be agreed upon with the Commission

What point have you proven wrong :D You have been proven wrong on all issues and you are trying to run away now. You know Kashmir is under Chapter 6 (should i prove it ... again), which is non-binding. So both UNCIP and UNSC resolutions are non-binding !!!

In any case as i said before what about the Kashmiris themselves ... they are asking for UNCIP resolutions to be implemented in their cosntitution .... are you saying you don't want to listen to the Kashmiris themselves :D

He has read this a hundred times and he wants to run away from it … so he is trying to say it is not binding … but unfortunately for him the Kashmiris themselves have asked for the solution to be under UNCIP resolutions … here is the AJK constitution …

Re: The GS peace prize - anyone??

UNCIP non-binding.

http://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/intrel/kashun98.htm

UNSC resolution. Read actricle 4.

And where does it say UNCIP are non-binding … read the english version … maybe it says so in the urdu version

Infact the UNSC resolution starts by recalling the UNCIP resolutions that have been agreed upon by both India and Pakistan … You know you have nothing but then how to get out of it …

Now what about the Kashmiris what are you saying to them about the UNCIP resolutions … what is your answer to them

Further Recalling the provisions of the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan resolutions of 13 August 1948, and 5 January 1949, which were accepted by the Governments of India and Pakistan and which provided that the question of the accession of the State of Jammu and Kashmir to India or Pakistan would be decided through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under the auspices of the United Nations

What about UNSC resolution ... are they binding ?

Re: The GS peace prize - anyone??

Seriously we are back to this? I must say you are pretty stubborn to know you are wrong and not accept it.

I know you are desperate to get out of it ... but facts are facts .... much like the "explosives" from "Reliance Industries" :D

So what is your advise to the Kashmiris who are trying to settle the issue as per UNCIP resolutions as they have written in their constitution. Are they wrong and UNCIP resolutions are not binding on Pakistan.
