Yes, I for one am proud of this team. On any other day we could have succumbed tamely after those run outs but we kept out heads, specially youhana who was all set to redeem himself after being involved in those runouts. Lets hope we win against aussies on 4th september.
Sad to see Moin just beinga shadow of himself, I think we can stop expecting match winning innings from him. He is not a champ anymore. :(

inshallah.. laikin saby... it wasnt a very big target first of all.. i knwo the pitch doesnt favour batsman at all but what if on next game australia score some 300 odd runs.. then what are we gonna do????? i doubt it.. but lets hope for the best....

Why did Pakistan Lose.
In the Bowling Department they were medicore all thru the game, except for the last few overs.
In the Fielding Department, all the missed run outs added up to the Australian total.
In the Batting Department, Senseless Runouts, and even more senseless batting by responsible middle order.
Bottom line Pakistan definitely has the Caliber and stamina, but unfortunately you get to see it only in spurts and that too far apart.

I will agree with the missed runouts bit and two senseless runouts. But our middle order played responsibly, we were out done by umpiring decisions and those runouts.
pp007-- Those will be different circumstances and will call for different approach and I am sure we will have somethign positive to show to.

I am talking about Razzaq got himself out, you seriously think he needed to go into slog mode when singles and twos and an occasional four would have bagged you the game.
Also look at Moin khan, not really middle order but definitely a responsible batsman, he was giving the strike to Sami, and eventually could not even stay till the end of the game.
and the most important thing .. the most *** khassi *** umpiring ive ever seen .. we criticized the players , we criticized the coaches but now its time to fire that old dawgg .. ..

Moin Khan is over the hill, he was giving strike to Sami rather than taking the responsibility on his shoulders, he did that against India in Karachi, he did that against Australia too. I will hope that his knocks liek the one against India in prev game are not just mere reflection of what he used to be capable of but a sign of thigns to come with his batting form coming back.

I dont call that responsible.

so mohtaram. what are you saying? that we should just criticize our young up and coming team for putting up a good fight despite making a few mistakes. but blind and incompetent umpires should be allowed to run rampant?
did you see the match? did you see the doubtful decisions. there was at least half a foot of light between Inzi's bat and the ball when the fat ****er gave him caught behind. and you could totally check out Haddin's ass in the gap between Youhana's bat and the ball. but the lardass still gave him out. so we're talking about totally atrocious decision here. nothing marginal.
waisay, if I were you I'd keep the lectures to myself given the kind of relationship your team has with Bucknor and how much noise is made about that all over the place.
no shame in losing a match if you go down fighting. we'll be back, this was a learning experience against the best team in the world. remember our last match was in WC03 where we lost by over 80 runs so losing by 17 is nothing to hang our heads on. we will gather ourselves and learn from this. we will have plenty of opportunities to return the favor to the aussies, beginning hopefully with the final of the Champions Trophy and continuing into their backyard in December. Luck will favor us then, hopefully and our fortunes will shine. The dark days of Pakistani cricket are behind us, this is a new team with a new attitude, hungry to be the team that finally slays the Aussies.

yes, fair weather Pak fans like you do suck a lot.
I like nothing better than seeing a Pak win no matter how ugly. but our boys put up a valiant fight. and apart from a couple of silly mistakes we can't fault them for anything. and the mistakes that they did make, I'm sure Woolmer has noted down and will be addressing for the ICC trophy.
I've never wanted to support a Pak team this much.

Firstly you are on my ignore list since the Mockery you made of Iddah, sinse that day I have not written to you or about you.
Secondly this was a discussion and not a lecture, and mind you the discussion was not with you.
You come on all high and almighty. Its high time you practice what you preach, and by the way dont expect a reply from me, no matter how instigating a reply you post.
I replied once to you just to remind you the message that I sent you in my pm "You are on my Ignore list".

what a bad feeling i am having right now.........whole weekend ruined....yeah i am trying to satisfy myself that we played well but the fact remains that we did not win.....what do these f..kin aussies think of themselves....i wish we had beaten their asses today....we were so close but we just gave up in last overs....i mean we could have done better in last overs....bu t hat is fine.....and that fat Vampire....well.....
someone has to make a decision to drop youhanna so he realizes that he cant continue in this manner (playing a selfish game and causing runouts)....
he has cost us the game on many an occasion when he himself did get to a decent score but caused the fall of other batsmen....
he must either be talked to severely or just axed from a big tounrmanet (hint hint) so he can learn for himself....
he is turning out to be the tendulkar of pakistan....

I don't see how there is a connection between Youhana being selfish and him causing runouts. his calling is very indecisive and he needs to work on it. but I don't see how the runouts helped him in a selfish manner. the Youhana I saw today went down blazing all guns. so, you surely can't compare him with Tendulkar. if he was playing for himself, he would have just stayed there, cut out all the risks and crept to his fifty at the cost of the team's chances. but he didn't do that. he even took most of the risks by playing the big shots as the senior partner so that Razzaq did not have to hit out.
whenever there is an iffy runout like Afridi's runout, the senior partner generally gets to keep his wicket for the team's sake. I would take Youhana over Afridi at the crease any day. yes, Malik was in good touch but again if I had to choose between their wickets, I'd still much rather have Youhana there to go on till the end.
even then lets assume, he's selfish. who do you want to replace him with? Younis Khan? Youhana one of our only two frontline, world-class and premier batsmen the other one being Inzi. if we had Miandad or someone like that, yeah sure sit Youhana out. but we don't have adequate replacements even if Youhana was being selfish. which I don't think he was. he's doing fine and needs more confidence to redisocver his touch.

How do we relate the selfishness with runouts? Like samby has pointed out, it was his indecisiveness rather than selfishness. In my opinion he was all set to redeem himself but unfortunately was given out unfairly and couldnt do it. Comparing him with Tendulkar is too emotional in my opinion.
