Grossglocknerstrasse - 2505 metres. The highest point on this road is Hochtor, 2505 metres.

Long steady climbs from either side, and two lakes near the summit, by-passing the much busier Arlbergpass which lies to the north

Sadi, thank you so very much for sharing these lovely pictures. I absolutely adored the raggedness of Grossglocknerstrasse and the altitude it punches. That’s what makes all the Alps so unique and stunningly beautiful- lush green valleys crowned by these magnificent peaks. It will any mountain biker’s biggest thrill to grind some of these routes which seem to elevate for ever. This kinda stuff definitely gets the adrenaline going…high country with abundant recreational activities. Life couldn’t get any better and simpler

Hey if it wasn’t for the real mountains, then keeping in shape wouldn’t have meant a squat. “Climbing” those mountains need long lasting endurance.
