re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Thats more like the england we know. I was amazed at how they batted first two tests. Afterall most of them average in 30's.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

No one averages in 30's

most of their batsmen averages around 45

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

4th Test @ MCG (Dec 26-30)

Australia struggling 57/3. Ponting's wretched form continues, dismissed for just 10

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Hussey gone

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England put Australia on the mat 98 all out!!!

Anderson and Tremlett 4 wickets apiece

Top scorer for Australia was Clarke with 20

6 catches for Prior

wow what a bowling performance by England. This test is surely theirs to lose

cricinfo:

The hosts are all out for their lowest score against England at the MCG since Test cricket's very first game, way back in 1877. They've simply been blown away by seam and swing bowling of the highest standard. There are no real demons in this pitch - it's not hooping around corners. England were just the more disciplined team out there today. They gave nothing away, and Australia's batsmen, in comparison, were unforgivably loose and 10 catches were presented behind the wicket.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England's bowling attack is the best in the world, really tough for Australia to win from here.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England going great

I want them to win this match :hbk:

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England Rock 444/5

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England lead by 385 runs with 3 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Australia (169/6 in the 2nd innings) need look no further than their two most experienced batsmen, Ponting and Clarke, for cause of it's troubles in this Ashes series

Both have failed miserably with the bat

Ponting has scored just 113 runs in 8 innings @ 16.14 with a highest of 51*
Clarke has scored 148 runs in 7 innings @ 21.14 with a highest of 80

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

In 1st session of 4th day Aus 258/9, Haddin is the lone fighter surviving.... innings defeat coming up for Australia.

EDIT: Oh wait, looks like R Harris is not going to bat, Aus gets innings and 157 runs defeat with Aus 258/9

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England Won :hbk:

Aussies :aj: :aj: :aj:

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England has developed something that was missing in them for a long while. Ruthlessness.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Ponting was letoff with 40% fine for his ‘unacceptable’ behaviour by match referee Ranjan Madugalle. Ponting charged at Aleem Dar in front of thousands of fans in the stands and millions watching on television and was seen wagging his finger at the umpire, virtually threatening him.

It isn’t the first time this has happened. An Australian cricketer escaping with meagre penalty for an unacceptable act. He should have been suspended for atleast a match.

Double standards is all I can say…but when was the last time ICC did something sensible?
