re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series
Personally I don’t really care for Ashes…it is an obsessive & prodigal hunt for singing the praises of poms or kangaroos in my humble opinion…
It may be super duper great cricket but what ICC really needs is a WORLD TEST championship with maybe day/night matches ending in 2-3 days with 2 innings each..

I agree. Why the F should we big up the Ashes? It's just an obsession between these goras and they do it over the top and give less credit to other important series.
As of today it's a series between two mid ranked teams. Sure there is history behid it which is why these guys can jack off watching it but for the rest of the world its just number 4 playin number 5
IND vs SA series would be much more intense. That's the series of this winter. The Ashes is just bigged up because the Aussies and English jack off about it all the time. Of course I am biased because I am Indian but come on. #1 vs #2. This is it. Another chance for India to prove that they are good playing away too.
re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series
waleed.. we can all make predictions :D ... SA is ranked number 2.. they are a very good team.. and they have the home advantage.. so they do have a good chance to win and close in the gap with india in the rankings..
it will be a great series...india has class batting.. meanwhile SA batting has come together really well perfectly in time.. amla and AB hitting form.. smith and kallis are class anyway.. SA have the better seamers but it would be foolish to rule out zak sree and ishatn in seaming conditions.. high quality series it will be..
compared this to the ashes where it's a nail biter only because teams are evenly matched at number 5 vs number 4.. the hype is only because of the hsitory.. not the quality of players..
re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series
Indians can just wish that their series against SA will be more exciting than The Ashes! India is playing non-stop against everyone and quiet frankly they are not fun to watch. To neutral cricket fans, it cannot get any better than aussies vs brits! I mean do I really wanna watch Harbhajan acting stupid or Sreesanth thinking he looks like a hero and bowling pathetically! No thanks

So you have already made the decision which one will be the more exciting series. 1 vs 2 or 4 v 5? 1 v 2 has more quality players at this moment... from both ends.
It's funny that when you think of India you only think of Bhajji or Sree doing tantrums. Not the masterclass of Sachin.. entertainment from Sehwag... pure class from VVS and Dravid.. or great fast bowling on indian pitches by Zak..

Good Point. I guess watching cricket in Australia with Channel 9 coverage and Bill Lawry and Tony Greig doing the commentary makes it fun to watch. If India was playing in Australia I would've definitely watched it! No doubt Sehwag, Sachin, Dravid and Laxman are a treat to the eyes! As you can tell I am not a bhajji and Sreesanth Fan :)
