The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

best of all the ONLY part of the match I watched live was Siddle’s hat-trick. Started watching stream a ball before watching Siddle’s hat-trick over. I am as much curse of England as for Pakistan I guess.

btw here is a great picture. Although catch was drop but photographer gets 10 out of 10. One guy is attempting a catch but almost all (except for keeper) is in air

The Way Australians R pumped up for the series

it will be very very difficult for England to win the Ashes :D

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

It is the first time in my life I am cheering for the Aussies!

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

You not the only one mate :D

Aussies 220-5 after a shortened day by rain

New Ball will be available from the start of Day 3

Let's c whether the Poms live up to the hype :D

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Day 3 - Aus 329/5

Australia's morning, 109 runs added

Hussey 124*

Partnership between Hussey and Haddin 186*

Hussey is lucky though to be still there, looked plumb LBW on two occasions (both chances off Anderson's bowling)

  1. given out by Aleem Dar. Hussey challenged the decision and was reprieved when Hawk Eye deemed that the ball was pitching just outside leg
  2. given not out by Aleem Dar and would have been out if England had another referral up their sleeve

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Australia 481!

Mammoth total.

It will be innings of a lifetime for England to save this test.

Hussey interview

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Hussey played well but frankly he was very lucky to not be given out on more than 1 occasion.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Hence I want atleast 5 referrals allowed per innings or 20 in a test match. England simply ran out of referrals. Hussey should have been out on 83. He went on to score 195! That looked dead LBW to me

86.3
Anderson to Hussey,no run, 84.2 mph, another lbw appeal! Much bigger this time, huge shout from Anderson but Dar says not out! It was full enough, swinging in and struck Hussey in line - that looked the closest of all three appeals so far, and *the replays show that would have been overturned on review *

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

I agree with Asif, there should be more referrals allowed, the margin of error for 2 is too little.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Michael Hussey is one complete player. He can change and win the game in any format of the game.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England 195/1.

Can they score another 270-280 runs from here?

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Stumps Day 4

England 260 & 309/1 (101.0 ov), Strauss 110, Cook 132*
Australia 481
England lead by 88 runs with 9 wickets remaining

cricinfo
Magnificent day for England, as epic as Australia's was yesterday. Alastair Cook leads the players off unbeaten on 132 from 270 balls. Together with his captain and then with Jonathan Trott he has carried England out of dire trouble almost to safety. Hard toil for the Australian bowlers, the pitch had nothing in it for them but they may be a touch concerned that they could only prise out one wicket in the day.

Aussie bowling exposed once again in second innings on a flat pitch. A tame draw looms

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

England showed some character now

they should declare tomorrow with lead of 250 + and get some aussie wickets to show that they r here to win

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Waleed wanna borrow some class openers. :D

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Strauss, Cook become England’s leading opening pair

They have now scored 3,415 runs as an opening partnership in 81 Test innings at an average of 43.22, surpassing the previous England best of 3,249 by the great 1920s and 30s pairing of Herbert Sutcliffe and Jack Hobbs.

re: The Ashes 2010/11 + Australia v England 7-match one-day series

Looks like Eng are in mood to make records instead of winning. Currently 503/1 in 147 overs, lead of 282 with 48 overs remaining.
