The Apprentice

Donald Trump is hosting Saturday Night Live tonight(04/03)

I saw last weeks episode yesterday. Today should be good. And Troy will be back for tonight too! Any guesses on who you people think will win?

Amy failing the interviews and getting fired left me in shock … Irem style.

P.S. I want Bill to win.

Oh it hasnt aired here yet :frowning: you just blew it for me :crying:

woopsy daisy … I’m sorry. :flower1:

Tonights show was great. I missed a few episodes in the past, but I sure am glad to catch the final few. Omorosa may be a b*tch but thats not the main issue...she is incompetent and that is where the problem lies. I recall that she was on a committee/task force during the Clinton administration and has law/grad degrees, but there is no doubt that she is the product of failed affirmative action policies which consistantly promote underqualified individuals.

I support Kwame, he is a calm collected presence who is consistent in his performance. He has great interpersonal skills and is no doubt a leader. You know, a lot has been said about his "Harvard MBA" but you have to realize that it is Kwame who excels because of who he is, not due to his degree. I have no doubt that he will do HBS proud. In a shameless plug I say to Kwame: Fight Fiercely Harvard!

haha Mehnaz, I want Bill to win too. He is so cute

Yeah FF, he is definitely ogle-worthy.

Omarosa just disgusted me tonight. Does she not realise that her lies are being caught on camera?

The lovebirds are gone.. There IS a God!

How I wanted them to lose the last one and disappear.. they didn't deserve to win but that 'nick in time' buyer saved their lounging behinds.

This week Trump started by having the final four sit with top level executives of his organizations for a 'real' interview. No more games.. no more strategies, teamplay or for that matter, leveraging your sexuality. This was designed to be a fierce one-on-one with the top brass.

We were shown snippets from where the candidates appeared baffled, frazzled and/or stumped by the barrage of aggressive questioning. In the end the executives told Donald who they liked.

It was music to my ears to finally hear a true assessment of some of the candiates.

Amy made no favorable impression at all and some even went on to echo my sentiments that she was all smiles and pearly white teeth and nothing inside.

Nick got what he deserved.. a mirror to see that he's just a salesperson and lacks depth.

Kwame was probably the 'least shown' which indicates he did good and gave them only a few opportunities where he didn't have the 'right' answers.. but overall they surmised he may lack energy or drive or perhaps failed to channel it outwards.

Bill as expected earned everyones approval and rightly so. He has a good education.. wonderful experience of having run a company of his and is otherwise solid as a person.

Trump didn't deviate at all from the recommendations of his 'experts' and fired Amy and Nick (the highpoint of the episode for me :)

Kwame and Bill were assigned two real-time projects. Bill would manage a Golf Torunament and Kwame would manage Jessica Simpson's appearance at Trumps Casino in Atlantic City.

As a twist, Trump offered them some 'employees' which turned out to be fired contenders.. Katrina, Bill, Amy, Heidi, Troy and yes.. u're right.. Omarossa.

Bill got the first pick and he went for Amy (as always). Here's where i think Kwame made the fatal mistake.. he was correct in picking his boy Troy but later in the picks he preferred Omarosso over Nick.. granted both are bad team players but Omarossa is like a time-bomb waiting to destroy the whole team she's in.. she's not just incompetent but dishonest and disloyal.

The episode was a "To-be-continued" but a little was shown how the teams were moving along. Kwame was too laissez-faire in his management style; while there are benefits to maintaining a calm outlook, at times it's essential to show a sense of urgency and involvement.

He has shown that he's a poor people's manager, has poor judgement when it comes to evaluating his employee's skill sets and/or personalities, failed to 'explode' at the rank incompetency of Omarossa.. (he should have 'fired' her on the spot and told Trump to adjust it somewhere in the game) and failed to spot the need to micro-manage this particular assignment as afterall it was his own a$$ on the line and a personal goal to be achieved which Heidi, Omarossa or for that matter Troy couldn't care less about.

Bill started with confidence.. Nick being the 'lazy' and immature employee he has always shown to be, but i have a feeling Bill won't need him to win this..

On a separate note.. FHM had all the Apprentice ladies (minus Jessi, Heidi, Omarossa, thank god) posing in lingerie.. finally the girls could put their collective talents to good use. ;)

Yahoo! Nick and Amy gone - so sweet! loved the way old lady criticized Amy - she said when Amy doesn't have any answer - she opens her mouth with big jaw or something - no class - no personality - ditto :D

noone expected Kwane to reached this far - at least i didn't - he was PM in three episodes - and his approach was laid back.

still it's tough to call who will emerge as a winner - and probably Trump will make his decision on these questions

"Kwane, do you think you are better than Bill?"

and ...

"Bill, do you think you are a better leader than Kwane?"

eXtra eXtra? ;)

i wonder where was the business sense when playboy offered each a deal of $ 250,000?

yeah Nick echoed these sentiments on Leno when he had both of them on.. she admitted that wasn't a bad offer ;)

Omarosa Fired From Four Jobs in Two Years
http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/ns/news/story.jsp?id=200404091046004912468&dt=20040409104600&w=APOXML&coview=

Her stint on “The Apprentice” wasn’t the first time Omarosa Manigault Stallworth heard the words “You’re fired.” People magazine says she was bounced from four jobs in two years with the Clinton administration.

A worker at her last job with the Commerce Department says Omarosa was asked to leave as quickly as possible because she was so disruptive. She says, “One woman wanted to slug her.”

Meanwhile, “Apprentice” co-star Ereka Vetrini says she’s exploring a slander action against Omarosa, according to the New York Daily News. The two have been feuding since Omarosa accused Vetrini of using a racial epithet to describer her. Vetrini denies the accusation.

According to Vetrini, Omarosa is “making it up because she wants to write a book on the subject.”

a BOOK? on a supposed slur? how long a time did she spend to be able to write a whole book?

Trademark challenger: Fired up over ‘The Apprentice’

(CNN) – While fans of NBC’s “The Apprentice” gear up for the final firing, one failed contestant is gearing up for a fight with the man who fired her.

Jessie Conners, 22, from New Richmond, Wisconsin, was fired in week six’s episode of “The Apprentice,” the reality show featuring several people competing to win a $250,000 job with real estate mogul Donald Trump’s organization. Each week, a contestant is dismissed from the show by Trump with what has become the latest catchphrase, “You’re fired.”

Trump fired Conners, in part, for not standing up for herself in a boardroom showdown with rival Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth.

Now, Conners has taken a stand against Trump by applying to register three trademarks in an effort to capitalize on her experience with the show and market products she said she intends to develop.

Conners has joined the list of people trying to register the trademark “You’re fired” – in her case, for the purpose of producing a clothing line.

Conners said she has also submitted applications to register “The Apprentice” under the trademark classifications of clothing and literature. In addition to starting a “You’re Fired” clothing line, she said she would like to write a book and perhaps produce a magazine titled “The Apprentice.”

Previously, Trump applied to register “You’re Fired” (both with and without exclamation points) for games and playthings and casino services. In addition, Trump has applied to register “You’re Fired” for paper goods, home furnishings, pillows, housewares, linens, toys and sporting goods, alcoholic beverage and clothing purposes.

And JMBP Inc., the production company of show creator Mark Burnett, has filed to trademark “You’re Fired” for clothing, footwear and headgear. Burnett has also filed to register “The Apprentice” for entertainment and television purposes, according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Web site.

Neither Trump nor Burnett could be reached for comment.

Conners admits that she has entered a “gray area,” because of the rights the show has to promote and advertise itself, and her contract with the show.

A legal debate already is heating up around the rush on trademarks related to the NBC hit.

“The question is whether or not the public would perceive [the words] as a trademark or a message,” said Roger Schechter, professor of law at George Washington University Law School.

Will the public view the words as a communication or believe that the words are sponsored or licensed by Donald Trump? Schechter said the answer depends on what the public’s reaction and perception would be.

"Everything in our world is gray, is kind of ‘maybe,’ " Schechter said.

Perhaps Trump summarized Conners best in his new book, “Trump: How to Get Rich,” in which he wrote: “You’ve got to fight back if you want to be successful in business.” While Trump noted in the book that Conners didn’t defend herself on the show, he also concluded: “Don’t underestimate her.”

Maybe this apprentice has learned a lesson from the master. “Who knows if I’ll get [the trademarks] or not,” Conners said. “But the fact that I stood up and I am doing it and I am fighting … that’s where the fun is for me.”

behind the scenes of Apprentice will be on NBC Dateline tonight!

Thats like opening a can of worms.

Why don't we all just pat ourselves on the back and look down on the rest of the world?

PS: How are you Matty?

^ RF, I am good and you? How'z school?

I don't think the guy on the show pats himself on the back..

Wow… just watched the finale' … perfect timing as I dint have night class today.

I had originally predicted that Bill would win… I can sort of relate to his method – thriving under pressure… nevertheless he could’ve done a few things differently...

Also got to see the true colors of Omarosa who turned out to be an emblematic WITCH !! she tried her level best to screw up Kwame... I commend his coolness though - I'd have screeched at her!

IMHO the best guy won!
