So the game has begun yet again .. who is following the series this year?
I guess it would be interesting to use this space to discuss what you think of the projects that the teams get every week , what you think are the major mistakes that the candidates make through the week and what you think deserves applaud. I see this as a great opportunity for individuals like us to learn and look at different skills sets..
I will share my thoughts .. From the moment I saw Nurun Ahmed, I got excited mainly coz I felt a hijabi representation was being made and it is no doubt tremendous achievement so secretly in my heart in wanted her to succeed .. but the past two weeks have been a disappointment. She lacks conviction big time.
Particularly in yesterday's fashion project .. she was a disaster in and out :(
Made me realize, how important it is to have conviction in what you say and what you follow or else you get eaten up in the rat race !
I have only seen episode 1 ... for the time being ...
My thoughts ... I find it highly unprofessional that people claim to be experts they are possibly the most deluded people - in a way the whole process is a way to root out the individual who changes the most ... they start off the process like arrogant, unfocused and imbalanced people and come out without these things ...
The men's team boss and his sub-team captain made a major blunder to pin blame on the failure of the task due to a character conflict. One can only make that accusation if the reason or rationale behind the "protest" was unsound. However, Steven had a sound - solid defence ... Lord Sugar saved the captain from bringing in Steven - he was dead set in doing that.
The women seemed to be very disconnected and they were challenging the captain, again due to character conflicts ... The most important thing to put before you is the success of the task. That way you present all criticism in terms of potential success or not. If you are not in the position for making decisions then you present the case calmly to who is in that position ... Don't set out to stab your own leader in the back for that could make your own team fail ... So the strategy from the beginning MUST be that one should be the best for the team and captain ... support the captain and that strengthens team and that makes your opinions heard and that gets things moving like a nice tamed flock moving in unison.

She was disappointing as a manager cause she lacks management skills, after all she only runs a market stall and seems out of her league with some of the women on this show. However, she did put up a fight in the boardroom. A really big fight, that was the side of her that she should have released when being manager of the group. I was really impressed cause she took on anyone who attacked her and shot them down pretty effectively.
The black gay canadian guy is amusing, you know there's gonna be alot of arguments due to him.
Did anyone watch "10yrs of the apprentice"? That was so wicked, I couldn't stop laughing at some of the stuff.
I agree Sentry , the fierce side of her should definitely have done her good had it been in the project.. I guess its still early on , we have seen in the past how quickly their skills evolve as the series progresses.
I missed watching the 10 years show , when did they show it? was it about the past candidates?
One person that I would love to see out of the process is Sarah Dales .. She is so unprofessional in so many ways.. In the first project she was leading the team and all she did was shove it in their faces with her "I am the manager" spiel .. A manager cant help the team because its below her dignity to make coffee! A manager who first thing in the morning checks if all the ladies are wearing heels and tip top on makeup !!
It felt beyond disgusting to see that one scene and honestly , I felt Sir Alan should have fired her in the first go!!
The worst series of all that have been. The guys all like to hide and shy away in a attempt to steer clear of the blame and as the over used phrase in this series says it 'putting their necks on the line'. The girls seem a bit stronger but this show has no clear indication of a winner just yet. Overall, by far the worst candidates Lord Sugar picked. This time it can clearly be seen that the candidates were picked for pure entertainment purposes and not for their talent.

Yep, I agree but I think her inexperience will drown among the other stronger candidates, unless of course alan sugar sees something in her which the others don't have. However, he's made some bad choices in the past and fired people I thought probably should have made the final, I guess time will tell.
Watch it on bbciplayer. It aired last week. Yeah it was about the past 10yrs and the candidates that have come and gone, it showed the fights, the best sellers, the rubbish decisions etc. It was absolutely brilliant!! I couldn't stop laughing.

Yep, her leadership was crap. I really hated to way she wanted women to use their bodies as a way to sell by wearing less clothes, it pissed me off. I hope she gets fired soon.

I disagree, I think it's shaping up to be a really good series. I don't think anything new is happening at the start, no one wants to be manager at the begining, lose and get fired. It's always been like that. I don't think anyone was picked for "pure entertainment" purposes. None of them look like entertainers. They just have decent jobs/ish and when you have a manager in the apprentice leading a group, as an individual you wouldn't say "he's my boss" sure he maybe the project manager, but he's not your boss and I think people get annoyed when someone else is ordering them around when in actual fact they have no authority over you. Case example would be a guy called tre from season 3 I think?..
The aim of the game is to show you are the best at:
Managing
Being comfortable in unfamiliar settings
Selling
Finding the idea that works
Gelling the team together
Winning
As long as you have a clear strategy it does not matter if you get in to the board room - accept your mistakes but don't blame people for the failure of the task. These lot the first thing they want to blame for the failure of the task is "another member of their team" - that will not go down well at all. They need to find the real problem areas and be truthful about how they broke down cos then that will be confidence that there is potential to learn.
These hot heads and pristine people may have gotten through the interview with their exaggerations ... but ...
