Terrorist attacks - Discussion

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

What I find sad is the callous indifference to these peoples plight by the state institutions that are suppose to protect vulnerable groups in the society. Weird thing is that if these were Palestinians or Burmese Muslims everyone would be protesting, and mullahs would probably burn down half of the country...if they were being killed like this by Israel or military in Burma.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

That was the thing that I felt that when some false pictures of Burma genocide were coming out on the social media every one was running amok on the streets. We are concerned about Iraq, Syria, Libya, Chechnya and Dagestan. At the moment more killings are taking place in Pakistan. We should be ashamed of ourselves that at the moment no sectarian attacks are taking place in Afghanistan, we get the credit here. One attack took place in Mazar e Sharif in December 2011 and the Afghans pointed fingers towards Pakistan (LEJ of course).

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

Ali Syed are all Hazaras Shia? And are all Shias in Pakistan Hazaras? Asking out of ignorance. Thanks.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

All Hazaras are Shias, but all Shias are not Hazaras. The Hazaras have Mongoloid features as evident from the picture in post #108, hence easy to pin point and target. Hazara is an ethnicity and Shiaism is a sect.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

Thanks!

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

NO coverage by the media, the sit in is there for almost 48 hours. Seems as if everything is hunky dory in the country. Thanks to the social media, now people don’t need the help of media for highlighting their issues. If media doesn’t change its working it will become irrelevant.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

It is so sad and downright stupid that these kind of incidents should happen in this century. People who believe in conspiracy theories should take a moment to ponder and think if there is a solution to these problems. Even if it is a conspiracy what is the best possible way to end these killings. That is something nobody is talking about.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

whats going on here with the hazara being targetted specifically and regularly? whats really known about the situation? afaik in the past baloch seperatists were suspected, now it is LEJ. whats really known?

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

In case of sectarian violence LEJ was always involved and they always accepted the responsibility for the same. The Baloch militants have different goals and they target the military and settlers in the province.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

Imran Khan is in the sit in (for Hazaras) outside the Governor House now and would be going to Quetta tomorrow.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

No one is obfuscating issues, shia sunni fights have been going on for long, very long in fact these so called TTP are not involved in 'shia' killings as much are Lashkar Jhangvi, SSP and the likes and these organizations are spread all over Pakistan so "drones" are not going to address that issue at all no matter how much we'd like that to.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

He is getting his paycheck so why should he be worried? When likes of Raja mental rental can become PM after failure as a minister then Raisani is a CM already.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

Tragic, when the attacks took place Raisani was in Islamabad now it seems he is partying in Dubai.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

The red part is very funny indeed. :hehe: Where did you get this absurd idea from? Prove it. :khumar:

Again, I only pointed out the pattern of these criminal acts. It clearly shows the terrorists only have one goal…create the fear among people and destroying lives and properties and they are NOT religious by any means.

I just changed the misra to fit on the situation at hand.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

A few points from this event:

1) The social media has become a very powerful tool in shaping public opinion. The media tried to sweep the issue under the carpet but social media brought it in the fore and now its becoming impossible for them to ignore it. We saw the power of social media in Shazaib case too.

2) Sit-ins in support of Hazaras/Shias in big cities of the country (Sunnis and minorities included) would provide some comfort to the aggrieved as well as a reminder to the perpetrators that they are the biggest losers in the big scheme of things.

3) Maybe as a result we could start our journey towards peace. Enough of this barbaric and inhumane blood shed.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

its heartening to see protests/sit-in were held in different cities in Pakistan to show their solidarity with Quetta Hazaras and still going on... when will the govt wake up? i was reading somewhere that only one Parliamentary from ANP party came out and joined the sit in. the rest wont speak against them for fear of being killed or they are in sympathy with these savages. the only statement came out of Isamabad is that PM says that FC should be given full powers, how would FC alone bring back peace to Quetta? awaam is not that naive that they will trust their hollow promises.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

President has finally woken up after almost three days. there is a meeting going on in Bilawal house. According to reports, there is a good chance that army will be called in.

However, matter of concern is when and IF army launches an operation against these animals, and they will just go and hide in afghanistan, this is what happened earlier as well.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

Yes, drones are obviously not an antidote to the incompetence of the government or that of Pakistani military's more devastating long-enduring policy of appeasement and accomodation of terrorists. To address the issue of terrorism once and for all we need:

1) People who are willing to face the reality without clinging to conspiracy theories and boogeymen.
2) An army that renounces its policies of using terrorists as proxies elsewhere, severe *all *support for terrorist groups, and goes after their sanctuaries without any ifs and buts.
3) A government that has zero tolerance for people like Rana Sanaullah and which gets serious in the business of governing.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

The present regime is the most insensitive government that I can think of, tragedies have taken place in Karachi, KP/FATA and Balochistan. Nothing could move them. For more than 40 hours Hazaras are conducting a sit in with the coffins of their loved ones (in sub-zero temperature), and the federal government sent one federal minister to them yesterday. No CM, Governor, PM or President, and the sit in continues.
