Re: Terror attack in Mumbai, Hotel Oberoi under siege
Pakistani govt took right step in fulfilling the request from Indian PM to send ISI chief to India to help in investigation. Although you cant do anything if no one want to listen (as they call kuttey ke dum tairhee kee tairhee) and keep beating the drum of " Pakistan , Pakistan..."

Israel defence officials have criticised the way Indian security forces have handled the terror attacks in Bombay, after it appeared that India turned down their offer of help to defeat the militants.
The officials, from Israel’s security forces, told The Jerusalem Post that the Indian troops prematurely stormed the besieged hotels where militants were holding hostages, risking lives in the process.

vineshvk bhaijan. Emotions are running high over the very sad and disturbing incident in Mumbai which is still not under control. Let's not talk about ruling in or ruling out without proper investigation has been done. I am sure India would not want egg on its face like the Samjhota Express attach. That is why I believe India has scored an own goal, as at this stage it is like 'crying wolf'.
I have now heard that India is accusing British citizens of being behind the attack. So the story is changing every day? It does not help India in its cause.
Experts doubt Al Qaeda link in Mumbai attacks - International Herald Tribune
Chrtistine Fair, senior political scientist and a South Asia expert at the RAND Corporation, was careful to say that the identity of the terrorists could not yet be known. ** But she insisted the style of the attacks and the targets in Mumbai suggested that the militants were likely to be Indian Muslims - and not linked to Al Qaeda or the violent South Asian terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. **
The word Deccan describes the middle and south of India, which is dominated by the Deccan Plateau. Mujahideen, of course, is the commonly used Arabic word for holy fighters. The very name - if it is a real group - suggests a domestic agenda.
Fair believes the attacks could be “yet another manifestation of domestic terrorism” that has its genesis in a longstanding institutional discrimination against Muslims.
“There are a lot of very, very angry Muslims in India,” she said, “The economic disparities are startling, and India has been very slow to publicly embrace its rising Muslim problem. You cannot put lipstick on this pig. This is a major domestic political challenge for India.”
Fair said one incident - “a watershed event” - that continues to anger Muslims were the riots that swept nearby Gujarat State in 2002. The violence killed between 1,000 and 2,000 people, most of them Muslims.
**"The public political face of India says, ‘Our Muslims have not been radicalized.’ But the Indian intelligence apparatus knows that’s not true. India’s Muslim communities are being sucked into the global landscape of Islamist jihad.
“Indians will have a strong incentive to link this to Al Qaeda. ‘Al Qaeda’s in your toilet!’ But this is a domestic issue. This is not India’s 9/11.”
For Hoffman, who has studied terrorism for more than 30 years, the Mumbai attacks are “alarming on a number of levels.” **

It could very well be an inside job.
Former captain Michael Vaughan revealed he and the rest of the performance squad would have been in the hotel when it came under siege but for a late change of plans.
India return up to us - Pietersen
**"All our white Test kit is in one of the rooms at the Taj Mahal,"** said Vaughan in his Daily Telegraph column.
**"All the stuff was deposited there after England’s two practice games in Mumbai at the start of this tour. That’s how close the danger is. **
"This week I was due to be in Mumbai with the rest of England’s high performance squad. **It was only at the last minute that our training camp was switched to Bangalore. **
**“I don’t know why it was switched but we could have been there in one of those hotels when they were attacked.” **
Pietersen admitted the players had been taken aback by events and that the decision to fly home was correct.

No, not really. I did attach a news bit. I'm just glad they got out of there early enough. The English Cricket team being hurt would not have been a good thing.
Just like you can not "rule out anyone's" involvement, you cant claim with 100% surety about someone and that too on TOP LEVEL but I do understand, Singh and other are just politicians and they will speak what "janta" want to listen specially with some state elections looking on head

Your inference of it being an inside job is what i am refering to ....... there were a number of captains of industry from India and abroad who were present in Taj ..... so your connection about saving crickters doesnt make sense
Anothr feature that is unique to India mostly the southern part is the accent. One of the terrorist had this accent… you never know, most security analyst and even their own media is pointing fingers at domestic terrorism…
Re: Terror attack in Mumbai, Hotel Oberoi under siege
The irresponsible discipline of the Law Enforcement agencies is appaulling. Just watched CNN and people standing literally right outside the Hotel. Normally people would be pushed far back to avoid any more casualties, the area would be cordoned off.
The reporter herself was surprised at the lack of security even while operation goes on. People are just standing around as if it's some sort of a demolition show going on, and the grenades and bullets can still be heard constantly.
Not good at all.....
Or maybe they have a protocol in place that allows for public to be so close to the Hotel building.
I find the Indians overall to be pretty moderate and reasonable people, atleast the ones I have met. But their logical reasoning STOPS when it comes to the condition of the 150 or so million muslims. They're not even willing to accept that they're such a mess, though plain simple facts would point to the contrary. Its fine to be patriotic for your own country, but plain idiotic to be ignorant. Its that ignorance, that utter lack of willingness to understand the mess in the Indian society which can be in part blamed for these attacks.
