Re: Tell us the story of your bridal jora!

Gorgeous bridals ladies!

ChamCham, your pink jora is STUNNING, MA.

Its not very uncommon to get a tacky and outdated look with pink and gold combo, but yours MA looks so fresh and exquisite. The shades of both colours are perfect.

Re: Tell us the story of your bridal jora!

Re: Tell us the story of your bridal jora!

I wore Gharara in deep red colour. Actually I like bridal dresses with heavy kaam so yes it was heavy.
*Who got and designed it?
It was my personal choice. I did’t have enough time to design my dress so I preferred to get ready made unstitched bridal dress and for this I went to see different designs at different shops like Zardozi, Aroosia but couldn’t find anything different. Finally I went to Ali Zari House and bought the dress. I just loved it. It was a non-designer dress
*What year was it made?
I got married in 2009
*What was your reaction when you first saw it? How did you feel in it on your wedding day? How do you feel about it now?
I simply loved it and felt like a princess on my wedding day. I still love it and I think it would still look good. Am waiting for brother’s wedding to wear it again
*What does it say about you, your family, etc?
Everyone loved it i guess  Some people might thought that it was kind of old fashioned dress but am not sure.
*Where is it now?
I have packed it carefully in my suit case.

Here are the photos of my barat and walima dresses. They are not very clear though. My walima dress was my mother in law choice and she bought it from Zardozi at Liberty Lahore.

Re: Tell us the story of your bridal jora!

I guess main kioun pechay rahoun, kanzah is napping so i can write some.

Our nikah was done 6 months before our rukhsati. The jora was bought and sent by my inlaws who werent able to come for the nikah from Pak. The main jora was a beautiful pink that i can best describe as piyaaz-i color. Its a shalwar suit with gold dabka kaam and black accents. I like it very much. There was another suit that was a ferozi and purple pant suit in same color kaam. I like that alot too. This was in 2006.

My mehendi jora was bought by inlaws. I didnt see it until the day of the mehendi and i wasnt impressed. It was a chunri shalwar suit with gota kaam in green and bright yellow. even though it wasnt what i would have chosen, i appreciated the fact that my inlaws got what they thought was best.

Shadi jora was bought by me. I wanted something in two shades but when we went shopping in the middle of summer, it was really hard for my mom because of the hot weather. I felt a bit pressurized and couldnt find anything i liked except this one lehanga taht was different than every thing else in anarkali. It was a dark maroon katan silk lehanga with stone work in maroon, green, tan and a bit golden. It was made for someone else but the shopkeeper said they had time to make another one for them so he sold it to us. I would have wished for a lehenga more regal and in two colors. I like it alot better now though. This was in 2007. The makeup was great too but i wish i had a professional do my dupatta. I did it with the help of GTG and my mami and it didnt set right. The jewelery was also a bit old fashioned but my mom didnt let me choose another jewlery set and i wish i had forced her to let me buy something else in terms of jewlery. I recently wore the lehanga again for my brother's wedding with a more updated jewelry set and liked the overall look much better.

Valima: this was a pishwaz. Hubs knew i liked ferozi so he had inlaws buy something in taht color. Its a ferozi pishwaz with shocking pink kaam, pink churidar and two tone dupatta. The fitting was gorgeous for that dress and every one said i looked prettier on the valima than on the wedding day. The kaam on it is a bit old fashioned and hence i havent worn it again since but i might soon for my SIL's wedding.

All the joras are with me in my house.
