For all those who’ve argued the credibility of the PTI brand name, the final voting results from PP 160 speak for themselves, with the PTI candidate having scored about 20,000 votes relative to the 27,000+ of the candidiate put forth by PML(N). Are the tables finally turning in favor of Imran Khan and PTI, given their relatively strong showing in NA 123 Lahore in March?
Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160
please look at the ground realities before saying it...
PTI gave its ticket to the guy who's father in law is member of Parliament on PPP's ticket... the guys is one of the biggest lota in Pak Politics and yes he contested 2002 election on PPP's ticket from the same constituency he won the election and then crossed the floor to join Mushy... later in 2008 he contested on the ticket of PML(Q) and lost... this time as usual certain elements of PPP backed him ( one can say that a limited action replay of recent pindi election where PPP were told to vote for Sheeda tali) ... If Imran Khan has this kind of Lotas then what kind of ideology they are promoting and what kind of change they are promising, i use to have believe in IK but his selectioin of people is worst then Zardari and NS

It goes with the philosophy of putting forward winnable (read politically entrenched) candidates with a clean record. The party has learnt from its previous mistakes and understands the contours of the political culture in Pakistan, meaning that they now realize the importance of having candidates who're strong in their "biraradri"/clan and who have prior political experience and are just not new unknowns. That's sadly how voting happens there, and PTI has to cope with it. The key is to get max number of seats in the next elections, establish the PTI brand name and then they can put forward whoever they want.

Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160
Failed politician? A PTI/IK backed candidiate scores major votes against a land-grabber put forward by the obscurantist/backward PML(N), that too in an environment in which the PML guy received massive backing from the provincial government and, possibly rigging too? You got to be kidding!
Every unworthy shmuck has gotten a chance to
Every unworthy shmuck has gotten a chance to fk Pakistan -- Nawaz, BB, Musharraf and Zardari. Imran Khan is the only guy who can run the country -- and not screw it**.

You can say him good as you have not tested him.
Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160
^^ So have you tested him?
Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160
Imran needs to understand that his party has no future joining hands with PML (N), he needs to challenge PPP and PML (N) in Punjab. This is the only way he can break out in Pakistan politics.
Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160
These are the kind of elections where in one polling station, 532 votes were cast against a total of 512 registered voters.
These are not elections!
**A victory stolen from PTI – Election in PP-160 rigged: Independent observers

Islamabad
Incidents of fraudulent voting, low turnout and heavy presence of police and Rangers inside polling stations marked the by-election for the PP-160 constituency, said a report compiled by the Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen).
The report stated that the seat was vacated due to the resignation tendered by Rana Mubashir, who won the 2008 general elections on a PML-N ticket by securing 42,056 votes when the voter turnout remained 41 per cent. As many as 187,933 voters are registered in PP-160 — 106,890 male and 81,043 female.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had set-up 145 polling stations — 51 male, 48 female and 46 combined polling stations. The 145 polling stations had 307 polling booths — 164 male and 143 female. According to 14 randomly sampled polling stations, the turnout remained 24.90 per cent, considerably lower than the turnout in the 2008 general elections. The turnout at male polling stations remained 27.7 per cent and 19.2 per cent at female polling stations. The turnout was 26.7 per cent at combined polling stations. At three of 60 observed polling stations (five per cent of observed polling stations), additional counterfoils had been filled on the ballot books whereas at similar number of polling stations, ballot papers were issued without filling the counterfoils,** indicating the possibility of fraudulent votes being stuffed in ballot boxes.**
According to Fafen observers, location of at least one polling station in Tech Society was changed a night before the polling. At PS 44 (Government Boys’ Primary School Shadiwal Majha), polling was stopped for 40 minutes after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers clashed with PML-N workers, who were allegedly involved in fraudulent voting.
The report alleged that at PS 78, a PML-N MNA was campaigning inside the polling station. An official vehicle of the Punjab government bearing number LEH 3992 was parked outside the premises where PS 46, 47 and 48 were established.
At PS 100 (Government Boys High School Halloke), 104 per cent votes were polled. As many as 532 votes were counted against the total registered votes of 512.
Similarly, Fafen observers reported from one polling station that the numbers of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) of voters as written on the counterfoils of the ballot books did not match the corresponding entries on the electoral rolls, again raising the possibility that fraudulent voting might have taken place. At five polling stations, dubious thumb impressions marked on counterfoils of ballot books at the same angle with phasing out ink print were observed.

^ regardless of what Tehreek-e-Taliban oops i mean Insaaf says...
the final result is they are one big loser in all the elections..
^^ Please learn to READ -- its the Independent observers and not PTI! Election was massively rigged just like you'll expect from overdosed on siree-pavay Nawaz Shareef.

Not yet been tested as a ruler.
Every unworthy shmuck has gotten a chance to
because he has already screwed a lot?!
what a language!
Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160
^^ Is that the best character smear you can make? Hopeless how characters are judged on factors other than financial corruption, graft, tax evasion, land grabbing, murder and theft of the nation's resources.
Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160
I think IK is a very honest & patriotic man hence definitely is pakistan's valueable asset. That is the only thing which makes him a very good cadidate for pakistan's president / PM position. My only concern is that he could be forced by the right wings to turn turn pakistan into saudia.
^^ Is that the best character smear you can make?
No. There are others. For example, "Taliban Khan".
Besides, that was not a smear. I was actually wondering at YOUR choice of words.
^ regardless of what Tehreek-e-Taliban oops i mean Insaaf says...

So true, until he learns to fraudulently cast votes he will remain a loser.
