Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160

how many fraudulent votes were cast in Sheikh Rasheed Rwp elections ?

or in last week Lahore one?

When you speak like God just before one day before election, that shows how much politician/leader you are:

An interesting article in Dawn about people rejoicing PTI’s “strong” showing.
It says that PTI’s votes were the result of clan-politics in the constituency, which had not much to do with PTI.
In the end it says that Imran is allowing same dirty politicians in his party who have been ruining the country since long. In this sense PTI is no different from any other party.

Despite all the party banners and party rallies that had been on display the fight in the PP-160 was also a clash between two groups of the Khokhar clan which wields considerable influence in the area. **PTI’s Zaheer Abbas Khokhar represented the political branch of Khokhars which had been defeated by their rival Khokhars in the 2008 polls. **Karamat Khokhar, a PPP candidate, had lost the National Assembly seat from the area to a lesser known Afzal Khokhar of the PML-N in 2008. The margin was big – more than 20,000 votes separated the winner from the losing candidate – but still, Karamat managed to poll some 38,000 votes. The same Zaheer Abbas who had a PTI ticket in 2010 was a PPP nominee in the 2002 general election and won the National Assembly seat in a tight contest. He had the support of Karamat Khokhar, his close relative who was barred from standing in the election because back then he didn’t have a BA degree (Karamat got the degree later on and was eligible to contest in 2008.) Now was it a miracle that the same Karamat Khokhar was spotted on Thursday on television accusing the PML-N of rigging the vote against his candidate, Zaheer Abbas?

As mentioned earlier, in 2002, Zaheer Abbas Khokhar was an MNA belonging to the PPP. Not too long after that, he joined the ranks of the PPP-Patriots for a place in the team of General Pervez Musharraf. Much as Imran Khan would lambaste the PML-N leaders for their empty cries of revolution and at the same time of rigging the PP-160 election, his own selection has been reminiscent of a leader desperate for small successes built on big compromises.

And this was not the first time Mr Khan was caught attempting a reverse sweep considering his earlier claims that he was different from the lot of politicians we have been blessed with. A few months ago he had chosen a PML-N reject to fight on a PTI ticket from another provincial constituency in Lahore. A while earlier, in a by-election in Rawalpindi,** the PTI could do no better than allow an old Jamaat man to fight as its nominee. **

Clearly, the PTI’s experiments in constituency politics have been by design. These corroborate the suspicions the party’s leader has generated with his words and lack of action in the political arena right since the launch of his party in the 1990s. The dirty terrain he had to encounter in the PP-160 leaves him with the same old two options. He should return full time to his social work or go the long haul in building a party which is actually different. Cameos don’t work here, skipper.

no no no .. no no no .. everyone is wrong.. only PTI & their keyboard warriors are right..

we are infidels .. ..

It just looks like your wishful thinking. Or did Imran say it too?

Doesn't Imran already HAVE a brand name? He is one of the most popular people in the country.

If Imran continues to rely on such characters then his 'brand name' can actually DECREASE instead of increasing, as people won't see any difference between him and other parties.
So this is a dangerous strategy for him, if it really is a strategy. It can backfire very easily. But on the other hand, what could be WORSE than what loser PTI is at this moment? So yeah, PTI can try this strategy, or ANY strategy.

I have already replied to this post, but I just thought of another point.

People are sooo forgiving when it comes to Maulana Imran's promiscuous life. But the same people would even throw murder fatwa's right and left if anyone else is found doing it.

Imagine what will happen when Bilawal, a very colorful character in school, returns to Pakistan politics.

poot kay paóoN palnay maiN hi nazr anay lagtay haiN…

he have not got any political representation and this is his attitude, what would he do if he ever get close to make govt?

Imran Khan is a duffer and is proved fact now, when it comes to politics and i am saying not because he hasn’t got any FRAUDULENT skills to win/rig election but it is because even after 12-15 years he is not been able to read the ground realities…

The Common man of Pakistan is tired of NS and AZ they want change and this change is wanted by the majority who don’t bother to go to polling stations mainly because they know the candidates contesting for their representation cannot deliver what they are promising… IK could have offered the change by allowing sincere and eligible persons to run in the elections.. but he selected the crooks which are no good to anyone including PML and PPP.. so where is the change how can a crook bring a change…

In other scenario, i believe IK is being used by politicians, they used him to BARK… but do not allow him to BITE… we have seen that in the case of Altaf Hussain, where IK went forward to a level where he presented some “Evidences” proving AH a murderer and terrorist.. i guess once AH joined the govt of PPP that episode ended.. no one knows what ever happened to that one…

Nowadays he is being found targeting NS… tomorrow it may be AZ and then who knows who… but as long as he continues to be duffer, he has not future in Politics nor can he bring any change if he is going to with the likes of Ijaz Khan and Zaheer Khokar…

I am not sure if I should say ‘thanks’ for providing that link of dunya’s talk show as you clearly are bad mouthing PTI.

But I am so glad to finally be an official registered member of PTI. Some confusions I had about PTI were clarified by watching those videos.

And people like you not in favor of PTI give me even more reasons to support PTI than ever before.

For national politics sake, a stronger PTI is a good idea.
They can break PMLN's vote bank in half, and helping liberals of PPP to win yet again.
In the end its a win win situation for the country and everybody (except for PMLN).

Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160

^ Either way, Altaf Kalliya and his band of bhatakhoor terrorists (the MQM) will never make it to Punjab despite Pir Sahib's grand revelations of grandeur.

yeh i am giving 20 more years to PTI.

hopefully they can able to secure 1 imran khan seat & 1 another.

Good Luck. :k:

Re: Tehreek-e-Insaf gives PML(N) a tough fight in PP160

^ Firenze, why are you so worried if people are not willing to vote for IK or PTI?

Either,

  1. People don't like him -- which makes him insignificant enough for you to spend so much energy on GS

  2. He cannot get popular vote in our corrupt system -- which, again, should not worry you

Everyone, including people on this forum and politics, have a right to opinion. If you have issues with those opinion, discuss them.

Personally, I think PTI got so many votes because PPP did not field a candidate.

faqir, why are you stressing yourself, 20 or 200. Should not matter to you.

I cannot imagine any Pakistani to have any other priority than a flourishing, successful & stronger Pakistan.

i would go the other way that many votes in lahore shows IK is making progress more in Lahore than in the Pindi belt
