...Tax Filers...

When I used to be single ( ), I used to pay tax at single rate. That means they would take higher taxes out of my income but at the end of the year, when I would file taxes, they would give me a refund because they took more taxes out than my income level should have paid. So that would mean a refund.

Anyway, I filed taxes as “Married and filing jointly” status. Like before, I had taxes deducted (federal and state) at a higher rate. So I’ll be getting a refund for Federal and State. However, mrs. didn’t have her taxes deducted at a higher rate (or something) for the state of NY, so I’ll have to pay taxes to the state, which is not a problem.

The problem is here: I gave my bank account and asked them to take money out of there for the NY state tax and use the same account to pay me the refund for federal and LA state tax. I filed the tax on Sunday and money was taken out on Tuesday. There is no sign of the refund that should be coming INTO my account :naraz:

Paisay laitey waqt yeh log bohat jald baazi kartey hain, detey waqt maut parti hai :smilestar:

Anybody would like to agree/differ?

Re: …Tax Filers…

topi pahna gaya koi :omg:

Re: …Tax Filers…

Koi nahi, state department :smilestar:

Well they said it will take at least 10 days to receive your refund, which is fine. But what they didn’t say was that it will take 2 days for us to get money from you :grumpy:

Re: …Tax Filers…

I been doing that with the H&R guys for the last 2 years
Walk in with your taxes - Walk out with your refund in your pocket :clown:

Re: …Tax Filers…

How does that work? They pay you from their pocket and then it’s between them and the IRS? That sounds interesting but last I checked, they said it was going to cost me about $200 to file taxes, I was like no thanks

I filed it myself for a couple of years. Then I used the CPA (private) for a couple of years. Last year I went to the tax volunteers. They filed it for free but made an error which got me excited that I was going to get like $1,800 in refund but the state was like hold on, you contributed $800, how the heck are you gonna get more than what you paid us back? :smilestar: So this year, I used one of those tax softwares and did everything myself. It maximized my deductions that the CPA never asked me about and no chances of making mistakes :dhimpak:

Re: ...Tax Filers...

James, those are LOANS at 200, 300, 400, 500 % interest rate... somebody has been scaming you big time. There is a law suit on this issue in california, check it out.. I don't think Shikra wants those... refund takes about 2 to 3 weeks to show up in your account so just wait.

Re: …Tax Filers…

Here are some reference link to the above (refund loans at 500% interest  )
Wallstreet Journal

Consumer Affairs

You can find more about this on google and other search engines.

To get tax refund a week or two QUICKER, you pay a big and heavy price of very high interest rate. OWNED!

Re: …Tax Filers…

That’s what I thought. Otherwise how would they make money if you went in the office, got your refund upfront, and paid no extra fees for it

Re: …Tax Filers…

i pay sweets :shireen:

Re: …Tax Filers…

Yeah but the fees are outragous… usually, the interest rate for typical loan is 9 to 27% but these go beyond that upto around 500 / 600%!!!

Re: …Tax Filers…

Then don’t go there, go to a bank :smilestar:

Re: ...Tax Filers...

You're telling me? :D

Re: …Tax Filers…

wellll - OKayyyyy
It may be like that - or maynot be like that… I am not sure
I am not a financial analyst and am really bad with accounts and taxes and numbers - thts why I prefer a professional to do that stuff for me.

Average fee I pay for my tax returns is around CND70.

I did mine today - Had the same 2 options - Take it right now - or let it go to the bank account (about a week).

I chose the bank account option.
Although they told me that it doesnt make any difference in the amount, maybe just a nominal few dollars… They make their money from the FEE that you pay - not the interest on the refund

Its not a loan shoan of any type

I got a FAT , very hi moota taaza return this year

Re: ...Tax Filers...

I am reporting this thread to the Local Authorities and TAX Daftars of that respective state.

Re: …Tax Filers…

Samad please do, kamsey kamm isi bahaney mera refund tou tezi sey process hoga

Jaan Leva I am telling you and others who would go take that 500% loan :smack:

Uncle 70 bucks sounds about the same as here, well here it’s in US dollars and then yours end up being cheaper. However, if you went to H & R block, then it’s way cheaper than here cuz I only asked once and it was $200+. I did mine using a tax software, and believe me, it treats you like an idiot (helps me out cuz I don’t like to file taxes as well :D) and asks you question about every little thing, it even shows you examples if you don’t get any of the questions. Once you are done, it puts it on the right places in the tax documents. THEN it checks for your errors. For eample, it asked me my income for 05 and I guessed. It matched it with what was reported last year and asked me to correct it. I then looked it up, sure enough, I had entered the wrong amount. Normally when you file it online, they charge you a fee but the tax company had a contract with my auto insurance company and they were offering free file to insurance customers if you filed through clicking on the link provided on the insurance website. So mine was free

Re: …Tax Filers…

So getting a tax refund is HALAL - right :halo:

Re: …Tax Filers…

As long as it is filed by a male (for a male) or female (for a female)

:maulana:
