Taweez is a locket or black sealed leather packet which keep enclosed a folded piece of paper with Quranic/Other content written on it. Locket, rings or stone myth also popular. The validity of these things are subject to religious opinion, but what are the cultural aspects of Taweez, Jadoo, evil eye protection(nazar lagna), and Talisman…

Re: Taweez culture
On topic, these practices were there in every society and culture. Why do people go after such things? doobte ko tinkay ka sahara.
Re: Taweez culture
People use them to ward off magic, nazar and other things like these. I personally don't believe in them, but they were very common 1-2 generations back.

Leave aside taweez thing, I've seen bowls (katora / pyala) which carry inscription of Ayat ul Kursi, Surah e Yaseen and people make their children drink water in these bowls for mitigating magic, etc effects. Now this seems totally a cultural aspect, which might not be a practice in Arabs.
Re: Taweez culture
^ I think its a cultural thing. I have seen my own brother drinking from a bowl having ayat ul qursi. I also remember that once a relative gave me some taweez for something, I hid them somewhere. Don't know what happened to them afterwards. :p

Imam zamin I believe is also used by Shias, so you can say its a regional thing. But yes I don't see Sunni Arabs using it.
