Taliban leader, former FATA MNA arrested

LAHORE: Police arrested a Taliban operative along with former FATA MNA Shah Abdul Aziz who was allegedly helping the Taliban escape in Islamabad, a private TV channel reported on Thursday. Police sources were quoted as saying that the suspected Taliban operative was hiding in Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Aziz’s house in G-6 sector. Police claimed that the Taliban commander was on the run from Swat and was allegedly a link between the Lal Masjid cleric and TTP chief Fazlullah, the channel reported. Sindh releases list of 168 most wanted

LAHORE: The Sindh Home Department on Friday released a list of 168 members of outlawed and extremist organizations, and issued orders for the immediate arrest of 35 of them, a private TV channel reported. The channel said the list includes the names of senior members of Al Qaeda, the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah-e-Muhammad, Sipah-e-Sahaba, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Hizbut Tehreer, Islami Mahaz and Khadamul Islam. Well, CJ had nothing to do with Maulana Aziz. Once the case is presented, its the responsibility of security agencies to provide strong and sufficient evidences to prove that the alleged person should not be bailed. If the agencies couldnt prove anything, no judge or court in the world could bar him from being bailed out.
So please stop cursing CJ like whining mother-in-law and be practical

In pakistani court system, the priority is witness statements, not evidence, and and as we know in terrorism cases no witness can come forward due to fear of jihadi retribution. And in most cases, witnesses are not even available as case is built on evidence, some of which cannot be displayed in public due to security concerns and other evidence is weak due to lack of proper investigative and zero forensic methods by our police.

So, by default the terrorists will always be let go in court system. Those who killed 11 french engineers in attack on navy bus were also let go recently by courts. Make no mistake, these people will come back and plan another suicide bombing.

shah abdul aziz was also responsible for lal masjid mess..even mufti rafi usmani said to him to go away from dialogue betweem ulemas and ghazi brothers..

I’m totally unable to understand wut’s joke here! Either I dont know or you need to understand how the superior courts work on such cases. Its not only in Pakistan, its all over the world.
If you be the CJ, you’ll have to decide the fate of any bail petition on the basis of evidences/witnesses provided by the Govt/security agencies. Not on the X-factors! Its not the “wish-list” that you have to follow. Its the LAW whose oath you have taken!

No point on blaming CJ ifti. He is just one person.

We as nation support gangsta rap in the name of Islam. And Mullah Aziz is just another gangster. These guys are jail birds. In for few days, then out flying again.

We as nation do not have a will to stop this gangstaism, just like poor tribal cultures all over the world have fell victims to the gangs, we too will continue losing. And one day the whole of Pakistan will be the gang land.

CJ shouldn't be blamed, he was probably doing his job.
We should blame ourselves, anyone with Daarhi doesn't automatically deserve respect. Title maulana doesn't give you right to take law in your own hands. Destroying girl schools, burning shops selling DVD's, attacking foriegn workers, threatning women and artists is CRIMINAL and whoever responsible should be punished.

So tell me, one of the CJs of Pakistan has actually 'convicted' Altaf Hussain of murder, and those that are demanding the punishment of Maulana Burqa without a conviction should atleast demand the extradiction of the murderer Altaf Hussain, just to be consistent with their love for 'offing' criminals.

An it all comes full circle. “Innocent” student of lal masjid who beheaded 3 men in his native Buner was from Jamia Faridia, the suicide making factory of that shaitan ghazi and his burqa posh brother abdul aziz. He was arrested outside former MNA/now terrorist’s house, shah abdul aziz.

Musharraf and liberal parties vindicated once again. Right wing parties remains shamelessly in league with suiciders.

ISLAMABAD: City police claimed on Monday to have arrested a mastermind of two suicide attacks in the capital in March and April.

Fidaullah, who is a former student of Jamia Faridia, was arrested after two suspects held for the suicide attacks named him.

He has also been accused of ambushing troops, beheading three men in Buner after accusing them of spying for security forces and providing shelter to suicide bombers.

Police said the alleged terrorist, who is a native of the Swari village in Buner, was arrested on Monday from Aabpara, but sources claimed that he was handed over to police by an intelligence agency on Sunday night.

The sources said the accused was picked up around 11am on May 27 from outside the residence of Shah Abdul Aziz, a former MNA from Kurk, on Street 31 in Sector G-6/1-3. The former MNA and a driver of a rent-a-car service were also arrested.

Fidaullah and several other seminary students were arrested for creating law and order and attacking law-enforcement personnel in 2007. Later, he was released on bail and an anti-terrorist court was scheduled to hear the case on May 28.

Senior Superintendent of Police Tahir Alam Khan told a news conference that Khairullah and Khurram Shehzad, who were arrested in connection with suicide attacks on a special police branch on March 23 and Frontier Constabulary’s barracks on April 4, implicated Fidaullah.

After the Islamabad police started a hunt for him, he fled to Buner to take part in the fight against security forces.

He set up a terrorist network called ‘Ghazi force’ with the support of Taliban militants Niaz Rahim, Habibullah, Ajmal, the SSP said Fidaullah had been brainwashing seminary students and sending them to Waziristan for training in suicide attacks since 2007.

He had also planned to kidnap foreigners.
