Re: Taking care of moms

Another thing to consider is diseases of aging. My SIL is suffering from an agressive form of Multiple Sclerosis, it has attacked her brain. While she was a very "with it" type of person, we see her degenerate to the ability of a three or four year old. Worse, she goes into uncontrollable rages and attacks her caregivers (usually my brother or my mom). The worst thing, the thing thats guaranteed to send her into one of these rages is a shower. She can go weeks without washing which is very common in brain-deficit persons. So if you think that its uncaring to place her in a home, you've obviously not walked in those particular shoes.

Re: Taking care of moms

libran dont bring in your cultural views if you want to refer to Islam.

lol it was a mistake that i made and a couple of ppl including u pointed it out and i apologized for it ... made my statement correct and thats pretty much all i can do on a forum

Re: Taking care of moms

If you're a doctor's wife, of course you're going to run your home the way you want. Comon. That's why we go for the docs. The BMW's and the impeccable granite tops and manicures endless.

And getting your own 5 bedroom house by the age of 26.

Which does not include the MIL cuz homeboy bought her a condo on the beach.

Re: Taking care of moms

Spiral, u serious?

dunn have to be a doc only ... just sayin

Re: Taking care of moms

Substitute whatever other profession is associated with money and status. Medicine isn't the only one. It's gonna be funny as healthcare gets more nationalized and all these salaries come crashing down.

What is a girl gonna do if she can't get her weekly 200 dollar makeover for the weekend's hottest shaadi?

Re: Taking care of moms

yeah docs are whining en masse already.

its amazing how AMA has rigged the system to maintain a chronic shortage of docs and then use the supply and demand issue on salaries.

i aso heard some docs complain about the stricter view on the continuing education aka fully paid resort vacations by pharma companies..

whole diff issue though

Re: Taking care of moms

My friend is going on a cruise where she is going to get CME credits. What a joke. I agree. They make it ridiculously hard to get into med school, to keep the club exclusive and meanwhile we are importing doctors from Haiti and Yemen because every year, training spots go infilled.

Friggin thing is a joke.

dream come true  everybody is happy

I would love to take care of my mom  but I know she would never agree to it :hinna:
May God bless my father & brother (ameen)

Re: Taking care of moms

interesting read...

Im not sure why we women want to rule the house. Why do we need the power? How about all work together?

i kno eh let the men rule the house

Re: Taking care of moms

^ yeah why not...? if they have a good head on their shoulders, let them.

I dont think anyone needs to rule. Work as a team to make it the best home possible

Re: Taking care of moms

That would be ideal sadzzz. The need to “rule” is embedded in the minds of some of our women :bummer:.

Niks u are weryyy ishhhmart :biggthumb:

Re: Taking care of moms

I dont think its a need to rule so much as custom...my mom ran her household for 37years, thats a LONG time! So when she comes to visit me and sees that I do things differently, or if I take shortcuts or dont do them as well as she did, she feels it necessary to either step in and take over or critisize me. She's not wrong really. And I try to accept her critisizm with a smile and comply with what she's telling me. Its very hard though.
