re: Tahirul Qadri’s long march
1: Tahir-ul-Qadri kee dhamaka-khez entry: It is not dhamakakhez entry as he was talking about candidate scrutiny implementation problem since long time. Well, not him but many were talking about this flaw in Pakistan election where scrutiny was lacking (even constitution ask for that) and that is the reason corrupts, defaulters, dual national, fake degree holders, etc … managed to contest election in 2008.
Supreme Court getting into disqualifying elected members created an urgency that something has to be done. Obviously, people demand was increasing and Tahir-ul-Qadri who was advocating of meaningful scrutiny took the plunge … and at right time too, because this is time when old government was leaving power and caretaker government along with role of election commission was supposed to come in.
2, 3, 4: Pakistan army kidnapping and killing, Swat killing, Quetta killing is happening since long time and shows that Pakistan government is incompetent. It is wild imagination that Pakistan army got kidnapped and killed, swat killing, Quetta killing, etc … are linked with TUQ long march.
5: Indian skirmishes at line of control are also not new thing. Nothing is to do with TUQ long march, just wild imagination. Indian skirmishes at LOC is army to army concern and not good for the country … but TUQ long march is good for the country (so it is just like linking ‘jumping in front of a truck’ with ‘eating banana’).
6: MQM support of TUQ is also obvious, as MQM is one of the parties who would lose nothing if scrutiny is forcefully implemented according to constitution requirement. Rather MQM can gain a lot, as scrutiny implementation would get rid of feudal and corrupt candidates from election and would give chance to middle-class educated candidates, whom MQM can attract. MQM does not depend on particular candidates or strength of candidate on constituency of any particular assembly seats, and thus for them, if a candidate is corrupt it is easy for party to replace them. One of MQM demand since early days is that middle-class people from the people should come into assembly and feudal leaders who are mostly corrupt and characterless should be stopped from contesting election.
7: Bringing in Q-e-Azam into his speech was I think stupid idea by A-Hussain. Actually, what I think that A-Hussain was trying to use Q-e-Azam example to justify dual nationality, but he conveyed the message in wrong way and media (plus other politicians) utilised that flaw in A-H speech, even though when one look at speech, reality is clear.
What A-H was trying to say is that, to have dual nationality and taking loyalty oath of another country by a Pakistani does not mean that his loyalty towards Pakistan changed or decreased. A-H took the example of Q-e-Azam (probably thinking that it would be great example) that at one time Q-e-Azam also had non Pakistani nationality and passport (obviously, at the time Pakistan did not existed) … so his oath would have been of loyalty to that nationality and passport (British subject), but that oath does not mean that his loyalty towards creating a homeland Pakistan for Muslims was any less … or in other words, even though living under British rule and using Indian-British passport (Q-e-Azam, Liaquat-a-Khan, Ghandhi, Nehru, etc) were needed to take oath that they would be loyal British subject (loyal to Queen of England), but at the same time they were fighting for independence from British rule, shows that even when they took oath to be loyal British subject, their loyalty towards their home country (subcontinent at the time) was not less … rather more than loyalty they had with British rule. Same is true with present dual national Pakistanis, that even though they might be holding dual nationality due to economical, convenience, or personal reasons, their loyalty towards Pakistan nevertheless does not decreases or changes … at least in most cases.
8: T-U-Qadri warning to Punjab government is obvious, as Punjab government has lost all sense of following law, rather have started wrong persecution on strength of power they are entrusted, so those who are getting persecuted (like T-U-Q and people joining him in long march) needed to do something, so T-U-Q reminded Punjab government that their numbers are few and that if they use entrusted power wrongly, they would become answerable soon.
Now … after all imaginary theory of ‘this and that’ if anyone considers that it is conspiracy than instead of giving stupid message to Pakistanis (many of whom are not that stupid), the messenger of doom should get own mental state checked.
