There must be some but no one tries to claim their link to prophet or sahabas.... peole usually use that to impress and I am not impressed.. to me there is no difference from where ur family came but important is how pious it is now...

You don't really understand. We are not having a debate about the origins of Syeds. Most of us know where they are from.
We are not quarelling over the origins of Syeds. Imam Zainul Abedeen is the son of Imam Hussain who is the brother of Imam Hassan. It's the same bloodline.
Mr Analyze this:
You needs to anylyze this further. You ask “why did all Syeds move to India all at once”. FYI there are Syeds in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan…besides India.
You talk about Arabs being tall, fair complexioned, blah, blah, blah. I’ll give you my own personal exapmle: My ancestors settled in Bejwar (Punjab) from Mashhad (Iran). After staying there for 10 generations they moved to different places. Now tell me what do you think they will look like? Most probably they will look more Punjabi than Irani.
Another example…my Uncle has very fair complexion and does not look Indian at all. His first cousin (my father) is dark skinned. Does that make him a non-Syed?
BTW I’m pretty sure you have seen what Arabs look like. Don’t tell me they are all tall and fair complexioned. I’ve seen Arabs who have the same skin color as an average indian or a Pakistan. These Arabs were not of African origin.
I think I have said enough.
Later.
Guys, my grandpa still has relatives in Uzbekistan, now they've moved to a place called Khiva.
One of my cousins named Wali went there in 97 and those Uzbek Syeds told him that a part of their family had left for India 3 centuries ago.
Now it all makes sense doesnt it.

I checked my shijrah. Guess what..Imam Zainul Abedeen had another son. His name Syed Muhammad Bakir Shah. My family descendend from him. Guess that's where yours and mine split up. So then I am not a Zaidi.

**Shakir, you are wrong on this one.
Most Syeds are descendents of Imam Zein ul Abideen (AS), however, not all.
Some are descended from Imam Hasan (AS) as well. They are usually Sunnis.

Sorry bhai, I don't think you have the right info. All Syeds/Shahs are from Imam Zainul Abedin. Remember what happened in Karbala? Imam Zainul Abideen was the only male in the family who survived. He was the son of Imam Hussain (r.a). Since he was extremely sick and bed-ridden, he was unable to fight against the enemy. Unfortunatley...all the men were shaheed.
So...all Syeds have bloodlines connecting to him.
BTW I'm tired of arguing with people like Degas, Analyze This and others. So I quit. There's no point of arguing over this. Does not change anything at all.

Tell me one thing;
African blacks are living in USA and Europe for several generations, do they look like whites now or do they still look black?
Another;
White people live in South Africa for centuries, so according to your logic they should become black now? right?
Think about your analogy
[This message has been edited by analyze it (edited January 25, 2001).]
Take a look at what you said “HI syed guys.”
You clearly showed that we are someone different then you. You think that we are something other then your fellow Muslim. Why didn’t you say brothers/sisters or etc…? Like I said, it depends on one mentality.
Yeah! you said right It depends on your mentality how you take it.I wonder if you get offended by this “Hi Syed Guys” proclaimation, how you view other non syed muslims. It doesn’t matter what you say in words.
I don’t want to share any thing with any one or be part of it which does not have islamic essence or spirit in it.If it makes you happy cling with it. I solemnly declare that I am not jealous of your syed status becoz why would i attach a pseudo symbol( with no significance) with my name which Imams even never used.
keep this inheritance with you and keep on passing to your generations.
That's right Youngbrat this guy seriously needs to analyze things.
What about interracial marriages? All these people settled and married local women. There are millions of blacks living in the U.S. Very few of them marry whites.
On the other hand the the central asian people who migrated to India were few in number and they married local women.
I have proof of what I'm saying. The proof is my shijra. What do you have to say to that?

Thats thee point I was saying that 95 % of Pakistans population have converted from hindus.. there nothing as muslim blood since muslims converted from kafirs...
I have a muslim friend from Madras , India here whose wife converted from hindu family few years back and mashallah is a devoted muslim now. Is her blood worth less than any sayed or any other muslim.. thats the essence of Islam.. can I go and tell her that despite all her hardships and difficulties to change her religion there are some muslims who feel pride in only having some so called pure blood....
Why do I have a tough time believing that you are not jealous?
Syed is a title or a sir name. The Imams lived hundreds of years ago. How can you say that they never used that name? Where you there? Even if they didn’t use that name, does that mean that they were not of that title or family? Here’s an example: My father does not write Syed in front of his name. Does does make him a non-Syed? On the other hand, if you change your name to Syed, will that make you a Syed?
No matter what you say will ever change anything in the past.
If i want to hold on to his “inheritance” (as you put it) and pass it down to generations- just like my ancestors have, then you have no right to tell me otherwise.
U know what bugs me the most? Trying to talk sense into senseless ppl!
I am a Hashemi.. as original as can be… I was very proud of being a “Sayyed” & very obnoxious about it, till I went to the hostel & realized that the caste system is self-created & is dumb!
Now.. about Arabn descendants.. haven’t U ever heard of Asians migrating to UK… & then settling down there.. & finally the next few generations call themselves “British” while they R basically immigrated Asians? That’s one way of having a foreign descent.
The other is.. a Pakistani goes to UK, marries a gori who decided to convert.. has goray kids who R excellent Muslims… the kids marry an Arab.. they have again goray kids.. so what is the ancestory in this case?
Arabs moved out towards Asia & the rest of the world to spread Islam. They married into diff families. Some of them re-married into Asians… so, this is how there is Arab descent.
Syed is NOT a caste. If U think U R superior cos U R a Sayyed.. then define a sayyed? A Syed is someone who descends from either the Holy Prophet’s family or from his granchildren’s family (as assumed in Pakistan) then does that not clearlt show Arab origin??
DUHHHHHHHHHHHHH
“Pure Blood”??? Did I say I was pure blood? Where did that come from? The last thing that I am is “pure blood”. I already told you that my ancestors settled in India from Iran. They married to Indian women. So in reality i am “mixed blood”. I am have Arab, Persian, and Indian blood in me. I never said my blood is better than anybody else’s?
This “Pure blood” thing you came up with is way outta context.
Your are putting words in other people’s mouth, AGAIN.
I think I am gonna have a “hasne ka daura” like bro youngbrat.
