Many people . Not "some" .... And this isn't it rural areas . ** I have a friend who's husband divorced her because of this ... And this happened in the U.S ..** I know of people that have lived in the US and their kids were born here BUT still their mothers have strictly forbidden the use of tampons JuST because it would break the hymen . Idk where u get info from but I am talkin abt real people over here . Who certainly don't live in villages . Their are thousands of girls in the US who are getting hymen replaced surgerys . Obviously they aren't doing it because they r marrying into a PENDU ( backward) family . buT they r doing it because it is widely followed . And these aren't only Arab girls BUT rather Pakistani American Women who marry Pakistani Men .
Wow, can't believe people still believe in the 'blood on the sheet' cr*p. Really she is better off without that loser for a husband tho and like u said hymen can be broken in loads of ways, tampons, exercise, horseriding.. Funny I bet the very men who are so obsessed with this stuff are the same ones who have been fooling around themselves. If my future MIL asked for a sheet with blood on it (she won't tho cos she's not Muslim or desi or arab) I'd tell her where to go. This stuff makes my blood boil.
Oh, and if a girl (or man) isn't a virgin, in Islam it's advised not to disclose this to ur other half, it's nobody's business and is between the person themselves and Allah.

People really do forget about the day of judment, you know its from such things like this that people go into love marriages, if MIL would just act normal, people didn't judge, parents didn't force: women like this would have a chance at happiness. What has happend to our Islam, where the women of Islam have more rights then any other set of women from any religion or furthermore, state! What happend to treating your daughters, wives, mothers like flowers! Some of these people should open a Qur'an once in while, maybe they'll learn something!

But is proved that not only MIL is restles to see the blood but also her looser son belives the same n this happens not only in desis but also in such families who like themselves to be called modern.
the reason behind is so simple, evey men wants his wife to be totally untouched n wen they cant see blood stains after the things done they start thinking abt the past of the girls. sorry to say but this is a fact, myself have not seen any wedding ruining just bcz of that thing Alhamdulillah. yeah but i herd a vey wierd story related to the topic.
All i can say that girls shud take care of themselves, shudnt involve theirselves in heavy exercises and physical activities where lies the possibilities of breaking of hymen,
Thanks to God and my mum, now i came to know that why she always forbid to involve in cyclying and heavy exercises, even she forbids sitting in some wrong ways.
girls, Allah SWT has made us sensitive and delicate, so we shud be carefull enough to take care of ourselves in every manner.

I agree with you when you say that girls should take care of themselves meaning: not go around bouncing from one guy to another, not only for marriage reasons, but also for religious reasons. (and is stuff like this happens to to a girl who bounced around, well then everybody is at fault including the girl herself, the man who never read the Qur’an, and his parents for not teaching him the right Islam)
But what the hell does it mean when you say thay should not do heavy exercises for the possibilities of breaking YOUR HYMEN. You have got to be kidding me.
So this is all we are suppose to think before we get married " oh i shouln’t sit like that because when i get married my husbend will think i’m not a virgin" Our entire life is not about a stupid hymen.

tats tru sadzz, wot i have observed here n wot i have been thru is that mothers plays their role in taking care of girls from begining, girls at early ages are not aware of these kinda issues, but every mom knows what sort of things shud be followed or not.
as for my own example, wen i gained sum weight (more then normal), i tried my best to go for exercises at gym, but my mum didnt let me join gym, aerobics classes n just asked me to walk as much to loose weight, n it worked well.

my mum would say the same thing, but i used to be a regular gym goer for quite some time before getting married.. and at school it was compulsory for us to do PE.. it really is just a misconception that just cus u do sports of whatever, that u wont bleed the first time u do it..
ur hymen may break while playing sports but that does not mean u will not bleed the first time u do it.. and i think its ludicrious that girls of today are getting surgery so they will bleed...
either they are marrying some really sad sod who has no idea.. or they really have lost their virginity
