*Suhag Raat*

Re: Suhag Raat

i've always wondered about this too..i mean how embarrassing would it be to have adults coming into your room the next morning, and demanding to see the sheets...i would be so humilated...i may start crying!
oh and what if you don't actually "do it" the night of your wedding? i mean its not like you HAVE to lose your virginity the night of your wedding...it shoudl be a special thing that should happen when you are ready for it...
....so if you don't do it the night of your wedding, and they see the sheets, would they be like "jhooti...nikal jaa ghar se!" (lol)
its so messed up!

Re: Suhag Raat

Omg so if I marry a man from Pakistan then that's wat he's gna do?

Re: Suhag Raat

omg no not all men are animals, just because thay are from Pakistan. Believe me men/families living in the us or for that matter any where else, can be like that too. I'm with someone from Pk and i live in the states, and he's not a freak show!!!!!

Inshallah you will end up with someone who is on the same mentality level as you!

Re: Suhag Raat

How do you know if she knows what shes doing anyway. Your not supposed to know yourself. :snooty:

Re: Suhag Raat

i dnt know any girl who would be foolish enough to even pretend to know what shes doing most people who have done the deed before marriage almost always will act even more virginal than a virgin...

and why do people never answer properly on this forum, everyone either berates the question or the question asker, and apparently most questions have been asked before, so lets all retrieve 4596 threads back and go thru 764 pages to get there. why are people not allowed to ask smiliar questions again…godddd

Re: Suhag Raat

yes my husband still thinks i was not virgin when he got married to me. i told him so many time but he don,t believe reason he was not virgin that why .

Re: Suhag Raat

Listen if by the next morning there's no spots just take a needle and poke your finger a bit alright? Make some spots. It is very important in Pakistani culture that there be spots on the sheets. It is in the Pakistani constitution that if a bridal suite hosts atleast one person who has ever carried a Pakistani passport, the bedding in that suite should show blood spots the morning after and should be open for inspection if requested by the local county comissioner or the groom's mother - whoever requests first.

:rotfl::rotfl: to the last part^

Re: Suhag Raat

What in the Pakistani constitution? like Pierre Trudeau said “the state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation” should be applied here. Pakistan is a Islamic Republic and there is no such stipulation in Islam so what is this all about? I really hope this was a joke!

Its really sad if such things are practiced in Pakistan, how come no one ever raises a finger at the men? agghhh  :grumpy:

Re: Suhag Raat

^ and here i go again :rotfl:

Re: Suhag Raat

I wonder if there’s a Hall of Spotted Sheets in ..the Pakistani White House.

Re: Suhag Raat

lol love it!

Re: Suhag Raat

so obviously i didn't get the sarcasm in cheegum's post first time around! :) but i still think its sad that some people still do such things

Re: Suhag Raat

Yes it is sad that some people still do such things. A lot of people in backwards indian and pakistani rural areas have no choice but to conform to these unislamic and utterly baseless traditions as set out by their great grandfather's uncle.

But it is even more sad that people as privileged as us have to even ask such questions. If you're being married off in a such a family that practices these traditions, you obviously have much bigger problems than just showing blood on the dance floor.

Re: Suhag Raat

Many people . Not "some" .... And this isn't it rural areas . I have a friend who's husband divorced her because of this ... And this happened in the U.S ..
I know of people that have lived in the US and their kids were born here BUT still their mothers have strictly forbidden the use of tampons JuST because it would break the hymen . Idk where u get info from but I am talkin abt real people over here . Who certainly don't live in villages . Their are thousands of girls in the US who are getting hymen replaced surgerys . Obviously they aren't doing it because they r marrying into a PENDU ( backward) family . buT they r doing it because it is widely followed . And these aren't only Arab girls BUT rather Pakistani American Women who marry Pakistani Men .

Re: Suhag Raat

oh im feeling sorry about ur friend..:(

Re: Suhag Raat

omg :( I had NO IDEA that it is followed by so many people still to this date but i guess moving to States doesn't change people's mentality. But honestly I don't think poeple from well educated families who are close to Islam follow this baseless tradition. Sometimes education alone doesn't change one's mentality, family has ALOT of influence.

It's so sad to hear about your friend and I guess the many other girls who go through this. Where is the trust one is suppose to have in thier suppose!? I hope and pray things like this don't ruin any more girls lives. InshAllah!
