The nice thing about Finance is that it teaches you that everything has a price. Expertise can become a commodity, and can be bought and sold as long as there is a liquid market.
If the expertise comes at too high of a price in Paksitan for instance, there are other equivalent markets. Efficient markets make even expertise fungible.....

India has the "grenade" advantage however. Outsourcing to India is makes itless likely that a grenade will come rolling through your research center door........

Irem, I don't know why you can't understand why some of your posts have been offensive, racist or anti-American. I already posted the most offensive to me (death to the agressors, whites aren't up to your level, any American who disagrees with you on this board must be white). Then you deny you made them, gloss over them or say it was in retaliation and therefore your'e not accountable.
I agree w/Matsui that you should have enrolled in some of those sissy courses (they would teach you about that being accountable thing, what constitutes racism and how we can be communicating offensively without realizing it.)

OG, I wrote in another thread just about this. In 20-40 yrs, 60-80% of global GDP will be financial services. As engineers continue to automate, they make production redundant. Thereby making themselves redundant. Every one bitched and moan about the silicon valley crash and the drop in rea salaries of techies. No SIht, I say, why should a commodotized skillset like a computer programmer make $150K a year?
Irem is right ot a degree, she has been brainwashed from the very begining that engineering and sciences are the only subjects to excel at. In desiland, studying the classics is less important than studying physics...studying rennaissance art is less important than studying how to code in C++. What results is a myopic person who has neither the capacity to think beyond the tunnel they have created/born into, nor the appreciation for another viewpoint or thought.
This applies to INdians and Pakistanis.

Grenade or no grenade. Pakistan needs to learn the last 10-15 years of economic policy of India and derive a lessons learned plan so they can avoid some of the pitfalls that India faced. In my mind, its a plus for Pakistan to be able to avoid some of the mistakes made by their neighbors.

OG, don't get discouraged. There are many people out there from South Asia, some even Pakistanis who like to go to Museums, not to get out of the rain. They enjoy speaking to and hanging with people of different backgrounds. They do not have a chip on their shoulder about some illperceived sense of religious superiority. They also have gone ot Harvard or Stanford and infact they run companies in the US that employ people like Irem and make sure they squeeze every bit of techincal juice out of them and then discard them like an orange pulp from a cuisinart.

Globalization has limits but they are few. The one thing that is apparent is that no country can overcome a 15 year deficit, and that cutting edge yesterday is a commodity tomorrow. The ability to finance projects, find global homes for projects, and to control projects will reside with those who control the capital.
And, ultimately personal skills far beyond intellect will prevail. To make things work in a globalized enviornment requires teamwork flexibility, emotional maturity, communication and common sense. Schools can only simulate this enviornment, successful countries will create business enviornments where business people thrive.

I'm sure that in just a few more posts I will have cracked the code and made the perfect argument. It's going to have to be distilled to it's very essence. Something so irrefutable that she will respond with some type of carthartic mea culpa in Urdu.
It's going to be something like, "People don't like to be insulted". Or "Don't condescend." Something so obvious, so pure....she'll change completely and it will be so relevatory that she might indeed become a flag-waving American patriot.
I'm still working on it. Do not even think of closing this thread until our work is finished here!

OG and Kaleem, it is not a matter of 10 or 15 yrs...it is the scale and model. Pakistan will benefit more from a rich and stable India and china than it would to compete with them. The outsourcing game is done...

Don't be ashamed of facts and don't be offended by them. Try to change them if you can though.
Whites and Saudis too (majority of them) are a lazy bunch. You guys don't work hard enough. We Pakistanis, and in fact most people from South & East Asia work harder than you guys. That's just a fact. East Asians work even harder than Pakistanis, we're not upto their level.
So why is that offensive?
And I want death for AGGRESSORS, be they of whatever religion or nationality.
Right now, at the international level, the aggressors are primarily Israelis and American and I want death for those among them who are dwell on the concept of extermination of Muslims.
