Street Fighter 2

So in the game “Street Fighter 2”…(some of you maybe to young to remember)…there was a move called the the dragon punch…where the main chracters..Ryu and ken..would fly up into the air do a twirl and jump back onto the ground. This was achieved by moving the joystiq diagnolly in a rapid movement!!!

In my day..in pindi…these move, for no apparent reason used to be called the “Pepsi”.

anyone know what im talkin bout?

Re: Street Fighter 2

this was the move

player on the left:

R, D, RD + punchbutton

similarly Sagat used to have a move with same notation, known as Tiger uppercut :D

for the expert in games: nowadays in Tekken 5/6 this move yields the 'electric wind god fist' (out of a wavedash), a similar type of move

Re: Street Fighter 2

Then you used to break a car ...and some barrells!!!

Re: Street Fighter 2

I was and i am the undispited king of the dragon punch in my neighbourhood. Nobody could ever land an aerial attack on me because i would always have a dragon punch ready for them, even if i was fallen down.

In my area it was called “kohni”, “chappa” etc. Some burger kids who would be rich enough to buy EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) would try to use the actual words but they’d soon get their puny asses kicked out of the arcade.

Other misunderstood words were

Dhalsim’s “Yoga Fire” was heard as “Khuda Khair”
Guile’s (pronounced Goo-lee) “Sonic Boom” was heard as “Malik Foo” which then became the permanant name of one of my friends called Malik.

Also, Sagat’s “Tiger Uppercut” was called “Aagya Akbar Khan”

And we invented combo shots in this game before anyone... When we were kings!!!
