Anjann, I'm not sure if it's in relation to the what was stated on the site or my overall opinion. I have got no idea about Iran's complete constitution. Therefore, I'm in no position to comment.

Asking about rajm is off-topic. Rajm (stoning to death) is a separate topic altogether, where both male and female adulturers are to be stoned to death.

In the Koran there are four so called neutral verses where women are considered equal to men (at least not demeaning towards women); to which apologists for Islam refer us repeatedly. Here are those:

Quran is spelled as Quran NOT “Koran” which is used by Christians as an insulting term.

This is the result of blind copy paste. Who are **“us” **in this phrase (Definitly this refers to more than one people, not you, as you are one anjjan) This is the result of blind copy paste.

3: 195 "Their Lord responded to the: “I never fail to reward any worker among you for any work you do, be you male or female, you are equal to one another¦.”
4: 124 “As for those who lead a righteous life, male or female. While believing, they enter paradise; without the slightest injustice”
16: 97 “Anyone who works righteousness, male or female, while believing, we will surely grant them a happy life in this world, and we will surely pay them their full recompense for their righteous works.”
40: 40 “Whoever commits a sin is required for just that, and whoever works righteousness - male or female - while believing, these will enter paradise wherein they receive provision without any limits.”

The 4 verses only show the “equality” of both sexes at social and legal levels.
These do not describe any differential responsibility of men or women. So they cannot be used as a comparison to the verses that talk about the responsibilites of women or men.

**If you want to compare, compare the verses comparing those that talk about the responsibilites of women to those expalining the responsibilites of men towards women. **

An-Nisa 4: 34 “As to those women On whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill -conduct, admonish them (first), (next) refuse to share beds, (and Last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance): For God is Most High, Great (above you all)”

Tell me how do you find it degrading to women when Quran says, “If you fear disloyality” Have you not heard of “Cheating” in western culture and in Hinduism too. That is what it refers to…

Al - Baqara 2: 223 “Your women are a tilt for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilt as ye will, and send (good deeds) before you for your souls, and fear Allah, and know that ye will (one day) meet Him. Give glad tidings to believers, (o Mohammad)”

This verse deals with the fact that Islam wants the men to by loyal and loving to their wives. This verse deals with the strength of the “Marital relations” between man and a woman.
This verse give sexual freedom between husband and wife as a unit of a consolidated society. This is the point where Islam promotes the sexual relations and nurturing of trust between a husband and a wife not between a man and a prostitute or a boyfriend and girlfriend.

How do you find it derogatory towards women. I don’t see any. This verse perfectly “dignifies the women” dignifies the relation of marriage between a man and woman

Al - Baqara 2: 222 “They questioned thee (O Mohammad) concerning menstruation, Say it is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not unto them till they are cleansed.”

First of all, the correct translation and the **COMPLETE **verse is this

[Shakir 2:222] And they ask you about menstruation. **Say: It is a discomfort; therefore keep aloof from the women during the menstrual discharge **and do not go near them until they have become clean; then when they have cleansed themselves, go in to them as Allah has commanded you; surely Allah loves those who turn much (to Him), and He loves those who purify themselves.

[Yusufali 2:222] They ask thee concerning women’s courses. Say: They are a hurt and a pollution: So keep away from women in their courses, and do not approach them until they are clean. But when they have purified themselves, ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by Allah. For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.

[Pickthal 2:222] They question thee (O Muhammad) concerning menstruation. Say: It is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not in unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you. Truly Allah loveth those who turn unto Him, and loveth those who have a care for cleanness.

So you see, the complete verse conveys the message that it is not allowed to have “sexual intercourse” during menstruation and the reason is because it is unclean blood. Do you know what is “menstrual” blood and how it differes from the one that is running in our blood vessels. I am sure no. Because you are following a “Christian Mullah” here who does not know it either.

And then, Quran says to resume the sexual relation after the women has stopped menstruating.

Now I ask you. Are these whom you quote are so sex hungry that they don;t even wait for the menses to stop. You mean to say that the intercourse be allowed during that time. Are you so disrespectful to the women (You or your inspirations) These are common sense Anjjan and you really look stupid when you make stupid argument…

There are millions of women in tens of islamic countries living happily with their familymembers and husbands including SA,Pk and Iran.

There are also millions of women in non-muslim countries who are living quite unhappy with their families and husbands.

TOPIC is NOT what you asked. Topic is status of women in Islam.

Every hindu on this forum has a serious and chronic problem which I or others have mentioned many times…running away from the topic!

There are different Muslim societies - Some may be close to Islam, some may be far away from Islam .The ‘Women’s rights in Islam’ should judged according to the authentic sources, and not what individual Muslims do, or what the Muslim society does.

This is the most eternal and unbeatable statement.

Mostly Muslims keep their women behind the doors, marry and divorce at their first wish, haram prevails (among Arabs), issues fatwas against women etc….

Show me a single Muslim, or a unique Muslim society, or an Islamic state who agrees that they do not live in accordance to Quran!
