Sri Lankan cricket team attacked in Lahore.

amazing posts from some people :). Apparently some of the posters here are pretty much defensive as if they are being accused of this incident. Relax... the investigation so far has not pointed anything on anyone yet.

GEO TV reporting that the investigation team will come out with a report in the next 18 hours regarding the arrests which have been made so far and so more details of the incident.

How nice of them to have left when the bus drove away even though it went only a few yards away to the stadium but these terrorists thought oh no we cant go in there because there is no cricket match today so we will go home. Try some other excuse.

Whcih part it it that you don't get !!!!!!!!!!!..... the stadium had a larger police presence and they obviously would not have taken on a target which they could not handle .... had there been a stronger police presence with the Sri Lankan while they were travelling, this would have not happened in the first place !!!!!!! Presidential level security was promised to them .... what happened to that !!!!!!!!!

Re: Sri Lankan cricket team attacked in Lahore.

^ I have been watching and reading about the whole incident continuously so I suggest you do the same before coming here and trying to make me understand .

Its funny that the same people who were falling over each other to blame India's security lapses for 26/11 are now suddenly doing a U-turn and are unable to see the lack of adequate security for the SL team as the primary reason this incident happened.:D

Right, so they were not "sitting ducks", correct? Also read driver's account, the elite cars gave cover to the bus, were the "elite" force cover part of the "sitting ducks" too?

Thank you for admitting that they were not “sitting ducks”. :flower:

The rest were fighting/providing cover to the bus etc. Don’t tell me you are only looking at body count here.

Dude, there was definitely big security lapse and big time failure of security agency to provide additional support/apprehend terrorists, we do admit. I don't want to indulge in comparing the situation with 26/11 here, so spare the thread, thanks.

Funny that the same people who were defending the security lapses of 26/11 are now falling over themselves to point fingers at others. People living in glass houses.. I am sure you know the rest.

Tribute Video

Perhaps you are familiar on what happened at Libery Chowk … let me give me some info and the you can perhaps comment once you have proper information.

The Sri Lankan team was in the “big” bus … while as Chris Broad along with the othe officals / umpires were in a “smaller” bus following the team “big” bus. The Sri Lankan team bus made it to Gadaffi Stadium … while as the “smaller” bus driver was killed and so these guys were stuck in the middle of the gun fight. It was only when the gun battle stopped that these guys were rescused. hence the “sitting duck” comment… hope this clears the situation …

I think they said on GEO if I heard it right that those CCTV pictures was before they attacked on the bus. They are heading towards the roundabout. And ofcourse market is close around 8:15-8:30 am...so you wont find anyone there.

26/11 was targetted against a whole city ... while as this was a moving"target" for a distance of about 3-4 kilometers. Now there seems to be indications that there was proir info of an attack on that particluar day !!!!!! Inspite of the security was not enhanced.

I was listening to some guy who was responsible for the security in Karachi and he said that apart from the armed escorts ... they had police people posted along the route to provide a secondery cover!!!!! This surely was not followed in Lahore and hence it is a major security lapse ......

Yes, Broad is fool. He just want to get in to media limelight... When the driver of the mini bus was killed anyone would be 'seating-duck' Why didn't broad drove bus himself?

My condolences to the families of dead police man.

Now it's time for pakistani youth to stand against terrorists and think about country first rather than Afghanistan and Kashmir...

Re: Sri Lankan cricket team attacked in Lahore.

Our police are untrained, under payed and unequipped to handle trained, well equipped and highly motivated jihadi "commando squads". However, this Broad guy didn't seem to appreciate why the cop jumped on top of him - to take any bullets headed their way himself and protect Broad!

That’s most ungrateful and disappointing considering Broad had allegedly hurled himself on top of the critically-injured Pak umpire Ahsan Raza in the van to shield him from further bullets

Indeed there were some serious security lapses but this statement of his is most unappreciative

Chris Broad :nook:

Atleast our forces managed to kill all but one terrorist and take the only one alive captive. Same can't be said for the great Pak police ;)

So your logic does not really apply here...Nice try nevertheless :p

Chalo, spare kar diya...

Thanks for admitting that there were security lapses though :p Atleast someone here is being honest.

The terrorists were on foot......

So once the bus got away, they had to run for over a 1 mile to reach the stadium?

Do you really expect them to run after the bus on foot until they reach the Stadium?

It took you guys 3 days to do that.......
