Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

Eating Saalan roti with Fork and Spoon is an ettiquetes strictly implemented in Pakistan Army or at least it used to. I know people who do that and it sounds funny when you witness it. I have always had hard time eating my meal when a person with spoon, fork, saalan, roti sitting next to me :smack:

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

Really?

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

at least at some point it was as I said β€œor it used to” .. My source is a retired pakistani army official.

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

^ you saw him eating Salan roti with fork?

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

That is an Army way of doing it.

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

And btw, its better than eating Noodles with hands. I've seen people doing that in the name of sunnat. Sunnat is also, not to disgust people with your eating etiquette.

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

Then it would be same for rice too, no?

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

I heard about him doing that in army life. His younger son does it often though and I have seen him doing it :D

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

So the jinx was right :hmmm:

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

Oh I did not read any comments, but yes, if he said that then he is right

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

ive never eaten desi food with spoon before i came to amreeka. and south indian dishes just dont taste the same if you eat with a spoon or fork. you need your fingers and palm to get everything in the right proportions - every morsel takes loveee <3

Re: Spoon Culture and Copy Cats

In maharashtra they serve rava dosa and masala dosa with spoon and fork..:D
