You don't know about the case. Also, there are questions about fairness of the trial and the fact the she was lashed too in front of her kids. There is no concept of double jeopardy in Islam ( you cannot be punished for same crime twice). And, I have never heard of anyone electrocuted anywhere in the US for adultery. Also, aultery is not a crime in this country, but murder is.
As for why I feel sorry because its the nature of brutality and primitiveness of punishment. Surely, no just God could condone such brutality of torturing someone to death, and if he does, he cannot be just.
They might have been imitating a report attributed to Hz Ali ra, where a person was lashed and then stoned and Imam Ali ra said, former is Quranic punishment and later a sunnah.

This is barbarism. If a Hadith prescribes this, the hadith is barbaric. Why try to justify it?
Religion needs to let go of the morals of the middle ages. Morals and rules should not be derived from what t hey were 100s of years ago. It's ever evolving. But religion deludes people into believing the nonsense "it was written and applicable for all time".. BS !

Stoning is the best cure for adultery? This is why I said Religion needs to stop imposing such barbaric mindset on people. Get with the times.

Most religions have had such inhumane (by today's standards) practices in their history. But a lot of them have MOVED ON from that and stopped the madness. The Christians are not burning witches and pagans anymore. The Hindus are not burning alive widows anymore. The Muslims need to stop the honor killings and the stoning to death BS for adultery etc. Islam needs it's Renaissance.
Do other heinous crimes include unfair judiciary based on your personal like/dislike for the accused??? all the muslims will continue to suffer if we fail to see the 'heinous' crimes & the real criminals & if we continue to follow our corrupt judicial system.
Im sure as per people like you, there is no place for fair judiciary in islam either, right? as per you the sentences for each 'accused' must be based on personal likes/dislikes of the judges / accuser.

Besides, I know, it is not practically done but if I am not mistaken, Torah also had the same (infact worse) punishments for some crimes........ including rape.

Islam will remain as it was 1400 years.In 1400 years it hasnt changed although some traitors did tried to derail it.Its from Almighty Allah so no need to worry.He will keep protecting it.

So the most effective cure for an adulterer is to stone him and flog him

It is one of those punishments that will give u immediate results.
It will tell the general public that look if u act like barbarian u will end up like him.
But all the islamic guidelines regarding the trial should be followed so that no innocent person is punished.

If Islam does not move with the times and get rid of all the barbarism and the middleage mentality there will always be a lot of suffering for the innocent muslim people who have no control over things.

A lot of Muslims already agree with me whether or not they admit it. A lot of muslims are protesting against the stoning of this woman.. and all the honor killings that happen in Pakistan.

There are guidelines as someone else stated, which should be followed, i dont know whether they have been followed in this case. These guidelines exist to ensure no innocent is punished for a crime he/she did not commit.
