Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

There is a last moment international push to stop the Iranian government from stoning a women to death. The women, Sakineh Mohammadie Ashtiani, a mother of two will be buried up to her chest and then stoned to death by rocks, but not any rocks, they want to make sure the rocks aren’t to large as they don’t want her to be killed too quickly. The death sentence ordered by a judge not due to evidence of adultery but based on his ‘personal’ feelings.

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

This kind of punishment should not exist in any society in the first place.

Why are you ashamed of divine laws? Are you not Muslim?

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

Can't believe these barbaric and stone age punishments still exist.

Why? Because the Prophet(SAW) was from the stone age right?

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

What BULL CRAP!!!!!

Why are they not stoning all the cheating bastar*s in the Middle East if they are sooooooo into following the RULES!!!!

because there is no real sharia established anywhere except for parts of muslim lands.

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

So UAE is not a Muslim land :konfused:

not when they have a strip club right across the masjid or their leaders drinking and gambling. hmmm

what i meant was sharia is not really followed except for the poor muslims and that too in some parts of the countries.

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

^But that is not fair is it? that it should be followed only by SOME Muslim countries, and only applicable for ppl who are poor!!!!!

I mean common...the law should be the same for everyone then...jst coz some1 was born in a poor area of a country they should be stoned to death just coz the judge feels like it!!!!

What kind of non-sense is it?

hey at least it's being followed somewhere. the rest need a rude awakening, they will get it sooner or later...

blame the satanic system.

try emotional stuff, that's the end of every pyscho-mullah ..

this is barbaric and must be end as soon as possible ..where it's happening..

exactly .. that's what i am trying to tell you, the system you are following/preaching is satanic .. it's devlish system ..

why you wanna burn in earth & hell ?

Divine law? Where is it mentioned in Quran?

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

@cricketplaya:

Yea..they should then…specially Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (coz 95% of them the moment they step out of KSA they forget they are Muslims)

The second should be UAE - coz they are a BLOODY DISGRACE TO ISLAM!!

and I still don’t agree with it - I don’t see why the law should only apply to poor ppl!! Poor ppl in this world suffer enough without having to be stoned to death too!!!

It's in Quran, but here is what Javed Ahmed Ghamidi take on it:

[QUOTE]
Javed Ahmad Ghamidi, a Pakistani Islamic scholar, has examined all hadith related to Rajm in his book Burhan and deals with the issue of Rajm not having been prescribed in the Qur'an, the source which has presidence over the Sunnah for Muslims. Based on principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, particularly that of Shatibi, Sunnah (the recorded ways and the manners of the prophet Muhammad) provides either an explanation of the Qur'an or an addition to the Qur'an.

If it is an explanation, then its status is secondary to the Quran. If it is an addition, than its issue can not have been discussed by the Qur'an.[7][8] Ghamidi concludes that Quranic punishment for Zina in verse [Qur'an 24:2] does not leave a room for another interpretation.[8] He also writes that stoning can only be prescribed for someone who rapes or habitually commits fornication as prostitutes, as it constitutes maleficence in the land and punishable according to verses [Qur'an 5:33].[9] As it is attributed to Muhammad in following hadith:

Acquire it from me, acquire it from me. The Almighty has revealed the directive about women who habitually commit fornication about which He had promised to reveal. If such criminals are unmarried or are the unsophisticated youth, then their punishment is a hundred stripes and exile and if they are widowers or are married, then their punishment is a hundred stripes and death by stoning. Sahih Muslim 1690

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

Firenze, stoning is not in Quran. Just google it.
Some people also claim that stoning is actually a biblical punishment. Not sure how true it is.

Sorry i mean "It's in Haadith" ..

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

OK guys..I am still studying...I would like to know what is the difference between Haadith and Quran?

Re: Son pleads for help as mother awaits stoning in Iran

Firenze, this raises an interesting point. How can Quran overlook such an important matter as taking the life of a person, so that people need be looking at other sources? Hadith could be mis-intrepreted or misquoted.
I for one think that Islam is a religion of common sense. That's why it is called the Natural Religion (deen e fitrat).

But then, this is not the religion section. And there is no need to go in details.
