I recently bought a new bed set ( ) as some might know (ok fine, as most might not know) :halo: and I was thinking that maybe I should have someone make me a custom computer desk to go along with it as my current one is big and the new one might save me some of that unnecessary space.
So I get an email from this carpenter who has 20+ years of experience (yada yada) in this kinda stuff and also said that he does a lot of other stuff etc etc and even listed his phone number. I respond back to e-mail telling him what exactly I was looking for and asked him for a quote (from his experience) for a custom computer desk. The price this dude gives me is not $10, not $50, not $100, not $200, not even $300. Even higher than that . I leave the price upto your imagination. So I respond back saying that the price he gave is a lot and I could buy like 3-4 computer desks from retail store in that much money. Come on folks, let’s be honest and real. I didn’t ask him to make me a new bedroom set, I simply asked for a quote on computer desk.
So he responds back with the following:

try to order the foot board to the bed and cut in half and you have the sides for your desk and get some glass for top. Happy holiday
[/quote]
I swear, I so wanted to give this dude a piece of my mind but I had better things to do and I wasn’t in the mood
So I simply burned him by saying something along the lines of:

You say you have 20+ years of experience. Is that only in making furniture or also knowing how to answer questions anyone might have? Happy Holidays!

Why do some people think that if you even talk to them or inquire about certain matter, you are obliged to order/buy their stuff? And after inquiring if you are not satisified and want to think about it or check other options, they think you have done something BIG and made a BIG mistake and start being rude
Read again, I didn’t say I was going to order online. This dude e-mailed ME and after I told him that the price he gave me is just TOO MUCH, he took it personally i guess :o
Abay banda mere hi ilaaqey ka tha mere bhai. I specifically asked for peeplan from my neighborhood, not out-of-states that I would have to order online
His quote was really high man, and I didn’t even ask for something fancy. Trust me, I could’ve added some mroe money in there and gotten a complete bedroom set OR taken a nice vacation within USA for few days
