^^ fkhan2: Actually I am quite amazed that it is coming from P in USA whose country men (who were lucky enough to have found shelter in Australia/US/Canada etc). are earning their dollars abroad and at the same time badmouthing their hosts all the time. And now according to his logic all these countries should think twice/thrice before issuing visas to more indians...
He seems to believe that Hindus have finally shown their colors. It is as though he expects certain behavior from certain people just because of their religion. They might be good at hiding it. But eventually it gets exposed.
So the blanket hatred is towards a belief system and the actions are just an excuse. There is no pleasing such people. You will never be good enough for them. They will wait forever to find a reason to hate, to find a reason to justify their own narrow minded world views. Since they hate you for something that you cannot and will not change, there will be hate regardless of the other party's action. Of all the people you expect Muslims to reject this kind of thinking.
So now you are going to stereotype and put all the Pakistanis in the same category?
This makes you no different than any other racist person OR you are one confused person and have no clue what you stand for...
I would never generalize about Pakistanis in general but these statements by you and others here have certainly shown how bigoted and racist you all are, you are no better than the ku klux klan

Pretty sure you haven't even tried to understand what other people are trying to say.
Compare to how Pakistani members are treated on Indian forums sometimes I think why do we need to be nice to Indian members on this forum and be respectful? But I guess that is how we are different because we don't differeniate.
Could have said alot to you in response to your KKK comment but I guess you are not worth my time and energy.
Even the male host shoud be banned from TV for using derogatory remarks on a national programme
Thank you, GoldenAsif (and Ehsan, funguy) for saying what you said. Religious stereotyping is reprehensible, no ifs and buts. But probably more disturbing than Sohail's comments were the comments by the show hosts. While not excusable, Sohail's comments are at least explainable in that he doesnt make a living based on his talking abilities. For the hosts, even that excuse is not there.

Could not have said that better. Just because, he was not chosen to be hired it does not mean that you can make such blatant statements in public. Being a popular person he should have the ability to understand what he is saying. If he does not, it is better that he keeps his mouth shut...
To all others, imagine what would have been the mess if an Indian player said the same thing about muslims.
To all those who cannot distinguish between Indian and Hindu am I glad that I am not a hindu residing in Pakistan. Hope you guys get the point.
I don't know how i missed it, although the clipping is not very clear on my end, if he have given the stated remark then he should be banned from international cricket, no body asked him certify Hindus nor does he is in position to do so.. nor individually neither as a Pakistani.
At Individual level, if he had so many problems with Hindus/Indians, then he should have not played for them, remember, he played IPL I and then later he played in a match or two ( if i am correct) for an IPL franchise in UK and now he went to offer his services for the same franchises which apparently were good until they ignored him and other Pakistani cricketers..
I am sure, if in IPL 3, he is offered, he will play that... i guess Hindus/Indians need to change their personality by then....

yeah and its about time you indians also
come out of the closet and condemn the attrocities committed by extremist hindus'
i know its tooo much way too much to ask but u can certainly TRY. ;)
I'm not saying it's not wrong... just pointing out that he might not have meant it that way. I can cite plenty of instances where as a moderator, I've corrected posts here on GS where a poster used similar language, whether knowingly or out of ignorance.

Actually what you mean that Hanoods should open their wallets for him while accepting his galiyans.
i think the Shetty/Zinta press conference on how they were recieving threats about having Pakistani players gives a new colour to this comment. Maybe he meant RSS/VHP type Hindu fundamentalist organizations.
He should be condemned till he come out and clarify what he meant (if he really meant anything else). As ravage said he might be just talking about RSS/VHP. But till then, no one can really put up and excuse for such religious-stereotype remarks.
Whatever someone thinks personally, should be discussed in personal space and not on media and in public.
He probably meant to say Indians, Hindu is widely understood shorthand for Indians. While it is broad brush, and is very unfair to the Good people of Pakistan who may be Hindu, it is relatively representative of India as a country. Sort of like saying 'gora' instead of English.
He may have meant to indicate the Hindu fundi orgs that have been threatening pakistani players
He may believe that all Hindus mentality is to blame for his exclusion from IPL including Danish Kaneria
Number 3 seems unlikely, and we should not react as if his intended meaning was number 3. A 'we'll look into it, and see what he was talking about' approach is much better.
Let's not pretend that we do not know what he meant when he said that. We probably all are guilty of thinking if not saying what he has said. Also, Indian posters here should not play saints either. We know what you are taught about Pakistanis in your textbooks and what you sometimes when frustrated say or think things on racial and religious lines.
Having said that, I think such statements from popular figures should always be condemned or else we will promote hatred to the nth degree.
assuming its true that most Pakistanies think like that and are taught that in our textbooks it makes no sense to publicly scapegoat someone for saying something they've been taught.
better to just clamp the topic down with speculation on alternative interpretations and have a private word with him on being politically correct.
