Well on any given day - I am biased karachitte … but believe me I dont agree with your statement ..

Lahore - I know many many good and educated families living there … may be some bad apples here and there …

but generally speaking - I call your statement a mere generalization with exaggeration …

the generalizations are usually based on ones view of right and wrong and when it comes to that i might be considered a heathen by many.

Educated or not many involve them selves in certain questionable activities in their lives at some point. We are all shareefs and respected unless and untill we are caught.

i dont see any problem in going out with your mangetar or talking via sms/email etc etc. as long as you have your parents permission its all ok. ofcourse one should stay in their limits and act with manners (just like one would when they hang out with their opp-sex friends).

Apart from religious restrictions (which are obviously in place), we all have converged towards mixed environments during our respective lives that any girl or guy who would not be interested in interacting with his/her fiance would be considered 'uninterested' and 'rude'.

Personally, I would love to know some basic info (how is she looking at her life ahead, what does she want, sharing expectations), but that is only if she is comfortable with this, whether its sms or email or chats. Dating, I personally am not a big fan.

Seriously, people who are engaged, the ones that are in their mid to late 20s dont need any permission from their parents to talk to someone, be it their own fiance. It's just stupid.
