skin problem

well i have combination skin i use MAC STudio Fix foundation but when i use these types of Dry foundatuon it becomes scales and flakes of skin on my dry area of face.

what shud i use?
how the foundtion is applied?

n what shud i do?

Re: skin problem

i have the SAME problem! the only thing i can suggest is, use a scrub first (nothing with too many chemicals) and use an oil free moisturizer after that..then apply the powder

Re: skin problem

For combination skin the best foundation is the one which is water based.
The foundation glides over skin without causing flaky-ness and doesnt give the skin that shiny look that oil based foundations leave behind.

I have no idea if Mac makes any foundations that are water based but I know of other brands.

Re: skin problem

^what is the identification of water base foundation?

i also have prescriptives liquid foundation....what abt it?

Re: skin problem

Re: skin problem

yeah... i use STUDIO FIX shade N4

Re: skin problem

Best thing is to exfoliate and also use an oil free moisturizer before applying the foundation.

Re: skin problem

^ recommend any oil free moisturizer

Fazeelat that wud only happen if u're skin is really dry, use a heavy moisturiser before u apply u're foundation. The Vitamin E cream from the body shop is pretty good.

Re: skin problem

if you are face is really dry, you should use a mosturizer before applying the foundation. btw mac foundations are very heavy and it doesn't look very good...try lancome color ideal which has a SPF 15 Sunscreen as well... it is light and gives your full coverage! and to apply a foundation you need a sponge.. first put the foundation where you want coverage... and then blend it with the sponge and use your fingers as well.. and check ur jawline to make sure it is perfectly blended.

your skin doesn't need to be dry in order for that to happen. my skin is VERY oily and it gets flakey after having makeup on for long hours.

Re: skin problem

**Fazeelat: **dont know why, but i really want to see ur wedding photos ... please? :D

Re: skin problem

There is this really nice foundation by some brand starting with g i think, its called a face mask.
I'll find its name

Re: skin problem

I know this may sound a bit strange to some but Ive got skin so sensitive I call it radioactive. Its also very dry. During the winter and pretty much most of the year, I use Olive Oil. Any extra-virign olive oil you can find at your local supermarket works.

Use this on your skin every night and there is a noticable difference. Simply apply it before going to bed and wash it off in the morning. Unless its very cold outside, most days I dont even need a moisturizer and it helps with imperfections too.

Good luck!

Re: skin problem

Olive and Rosehip Oil are the best moisturizers for skin.

I myself use Organic Rosehip Oil as a moisturizer as my skin is extremely sensitive to chemicals.

Under a foundation though I use Roc's moistiurzer cause its the only one my skin can tolerate.

Another thing you can look into is Serums instead of moisturizers.

Marwah if u're skin is oily the makeup won't appear flaky..perhaps it's just the t-zone that u're talking about..

Re: skin problem

ok sister, i havent the whole thread, but i know what you mean, and my only advise would be to change your foundation. MAC studio is good but i had the same problem when i first started to use it, until couple of weeks before my marriage my make up artist introduced me to a different foundation called Truely Matte Foundation SPF15 by Clarins. It's a liquid foundation so should be easy to apply. It is quite good for balancing the moisture of the skin. :) You could always try that.

Also, do you have acne?? If you do, then I suggest you avoid foundation on the whole for a while and instead of foundation use this cream called Archi. I don't know if it is the proper name but its very small and you get from pak. If you are in UK, you can get it from here too. However whilst applying this ensure you only dab it on. :) Also, for acne (if you have it, or anyone), use Ajvaein (i cannot recall what it's called in english; any sister who may know plz do say) powder and make a paste using lemon juice. Use it every day and any spots, acne marks will go away. Insha'Allah. :) Hope that helps you and any other sister!.....:)

that might be how it is with MOST people. but i can say for sure that's not how it is with me. my face is very oily, ALL over and i get the flakey look on my cheeks and chin..maybe that's how it is with fazeelat too.

thanx

yes i have acne when i dont care of my face, coz i have to take veil so due summer n sweating sumtimes acne appear on my face.
