^ yeah but the heat is pretty much concealed, so you never know what to expect underneath the coating, if you know what I mean.

^i agree, so its beyond my understanding why hijabi's get check out. I wanna rip their faces off.... but the worst was when i was going out with my gf for lunch, this guy comes up with this nasty expression on his face and is like "oh, let me open that door for you beautiful," while my hand was already on the door handle, and he touched my hand..omg this might not be a big deal for other girls, but i wanted to kill him!

I would respond with a polite smile and a "I'm fine, thank you." and continue on your way. Being polite does not mean you're easy, and if you continue walking they'll get the message that you are busy.

In pakistan no way i would say anythng to anyone i would seriously just walk away.
Here though guys do come and try and talk to you in uni and apart from ignoring them i dont know how to react!
So there are mixed opinions. SOme people saying replying and being polite isnt being easy and some are saying completely ignore.
I dont even look at the person who is talking to me especially if its a group of guys!

They dont say oh hi how are you.
They say it in a way which is blatent hitting on me like they say something loudly from the other side of the road like hey you in the pink top come here so i can get a closer look at you and the friends will all whistle( this is what happened yesterday) now what i was saying is i just run away without looking, but other girls i know would turn around and smile and im asking does this make them 'bad girls'
Honestly its really obvious. Like last night i was in the junior common room and this guy comes up to me and goes hey how are you, i havnt seen you around and i said i dont think i know you either and then he says 'youre quite cute' and then i run away.
in my firsnt thread i meant 'hey how you doin' in the Friends way. But i dont think anyone watches friends here.

The one underlined might not qualify for hitting on you, perhaps the guy was just being social, and interested in ‘fraandship’ with you. Anyway, you seem quite defensive, which is obviously your personal choice, and not necessarily a bad thing to do, just make sure you don’t become a bitter defensive fob - and butt of all jokes - that sort of thing. I mean merely talking to a guy doesn’t make you ‘easy’.

I wont reply if I do not know the person. If he was toooooooooo interested to talk to me ,or toooooooooooooo dying to know how am I doing , then let him come to me as a man, ask me what he wants. I will surely satisfy his questions.

alvena - exactly, you need to calm down a bit. Every single guy who will approach you will not be aiming to get into your pants (not the most decent way to put it, sorry). Being cautious is good, being paranoid is not. You can be nice and sociable, yet keep a decent gap. When you interact with someone, it takes a few minutes to judge whether you are easy or not. If not, there automatically develops a space of decency and respect. And if someone is trying to cross the limits or making you uncomfortable, you can always nicely tell them to eff off.
