i have an emjoi epilator, its really good. havent ever use any others, so cant say much. but epilating itself is so f'ing painful..never again! try a no!no! it removes hair with thermal energy..so no pain! :)

I use silkepel and I like it.
I recently tried it on my chin and so far I think the result is better than waxing.
With waxing I used to get hair back soon but this time its been more than 3 weeks and no hair is visible yet on my chin so yeah I like it.
If you have not tried epilator before, try it first before buying. It is slightly painful as I think in waxing you take care of a big area in one go while with epilating you are plucking few hair at one time.

yup i use it only on arms and its going fine for me, but will never ever use it anywhere else cuz it just gives me ingrown hairs.. except for on arms for some reason :S

I use an epilator on my legs. I don't think it hurts. I've also used it on my undearms......that hurt though. I dunno how my sister is able to use it on her underarms......that's a more sensitive part of the body....i guess she just has a stronger threshold for pain. Either that or her nerves have been deadened to numbness, lol.
But on the legs.....I find it doesn't hurt as the rubber/foam provides cushioning.

I've heard bad things about epilation, in general. Besides the pain, the ingrowns are a nightmare.

Neither waxing nor Epilating hurts anymore...i am just so used to it...shaving at times does irritate my skin.

Depends upon the part of the body. Some areas are more sensitive than areas. May also depend upon the amount and thickness of hair. I don't have much hair on my legs and it's not thick.....so waxing/epilating doesn't hurt on my legs.

I have the emjoi one and I like it a lot. The reason for that is that I am horrible at waxing myself and wax it too messy for me. I basically epilate underarms, legs,arms but if i wanted to I could use it on my whole body. I just find it easier to epilate instead of waxing and shaving does nothing but make it thicker. I say get one, even if you use it just on arms or legs, it worth it.
The cons - 1)hurts!(but will eventually get used to it) 2)in-grown hair (I am suffering as I type for my first one)

I never got them on my arms but the one summer I used an epilator a lot on my legs.. yikes.
I dumped epilators for a wax heater and good quality waxes. Then Laser.
For coarse areas, such as underarms, bikini and legs, I would encourage people to save up for Laser. It's really worth it.
