Personally, even though I used them for over 10 years (the first one was a remington model that had a rotating rod of rubber with nicks in it), I'd say not. They tend to break a lot of the hairs in the follicle and also distort the hair growth.
Had I had the sense earlier, I would have purchased the wax heater way before Regular water dispersible warm wax is fine for large areas like legs. For delicate areas such as the underarms and bikini line hard wax is great (as it doesn't pull the skin), although it takes some practice to use properly.
And save up for some good quality laser treatments.
Oh, and I preferred phillps to braun, I've had various models from both companies.
