I always wear short blouses, but not those tiny "bra" style blouses. My skin mostly only shows from the sides and the back, the front is pretty much all covered by the palu. But I only wear saris when its women-only functions so I dont mind to show the skin

What do you guys mean when you say "long" blouse?
Do you mean just that it comes to wear the top of the bottom sari part starts, or it actually goes past the top of the sari?

Personally, I dont like the longer blouses as they dont suit me (my frame, height etc). Prefer the shorter ones (where abt 3/4 inches show between the blouse and petticoat). Love the see-through effect with chiffon saris--It accentuates the "waist"

yes I agree it all depends on the tailoring of the blouse--thank god so far there's been impeccable stitching on my blouses.

^ My neither, I think the longer blouses would look rubbish on me. I usually wear capped sleeves that just about cover my shoulder (or sleeveless in the summer, not little spaghetti strapped ones tho). None of my family are particularly fussed about how short the blouses are, my Mum does tell me off for cleavage tho :(

Some women bring the saree over their fronts like a v-shape, have seen it on Bengali news, looks v.modest

If you have a little flab, but are overall OK in the stomach region, then wear a blouse that shows only about 1-2 inches of skin. If you're very toned, then you can pull off short blouses. I think long blouses are only necessary if you're doing it for religious purposes or you do not have the sort of stomach that should be showed off. Haha.

I wear long blouses (don't like to show skin there) with short sleeves they look great!!

I love Saris but they don't love me back!!! They keep slipping from all corners and before you know it, my stitched Saree has come undone( coz the hook came out), while i am walking on stage to collect my title at my LUMS farewell (TRUE STORY). Kher I've sworn off Sarees, even though i think i look kinda nice in em. I am 5.6 and weigh around 117 lbs, so no bulges wagirah... but oh well, maybe in another ten years:p

I love sari's too! U just need to know how to carry it.. i've seen girls wear long blouses and carry it really well too. I'm tall but I prefer blouses that end an inch below the rib-cage. The fit has to be nice though..

y every one if fighting on something wwhich has to be worn under a saree.... it hardly makes a difference if u in pakistan or india.... being a gal who wears all sorts of blouses be it sleeveless backless or short its ur body which makes u feel comfortable... ladies cribbing here that indians have made it vulgar of pakistan dosent know how to wear blouses r stupids or may be not gals coz if they are really females the should know the one who is opposing on skin show or small or deep blouses do not have the figure or body shape to support it... which gal wouldnt show her navel if its sexy n offcourse a bulky or fat to be precised wont show it n will always say its bad to show skin. No matter how much someone argues its the truth coz we dnt know ne one in personal here and they can lie easily.. n tell me y fight if u cant be glamorous. Its modern era nothing is vulgar if u can carry urself.

Dont u think wearing long blouses like kurtas or anything is just pathetic .... m sure its not justified .... God knows y people fight on blouses when m sure gals married or not Rome in the house wearing kameez without salwar and that also with a deep neck....

Gals who r not allowed to show skin even after having good body please ignore coz we pitty on u n practally the topic is nt for u ...

i m surprised to see these posts as gals r fighting on blouses as the modern era says u can wear sarees without blouse or petticoat.... Isn.t it????????

Hmmmm... i WANT TO BE PROFESSIONAL enough so i really i dnt want to make it personal but the point is that the Name of the thread itself says showing skin while wearing sarees so u need to understand the meaning first n someone like me is was too personal ..... coz i think m not the only one who shows some skin its just we can coz we have are body toned n fit ..... i hope u got my point..
