“Ameer” of our masjid’s shura council is non-bearded, now I am gonna tell him to grow beard or get out because PCG thinks so.
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
If you don’t want to wear one yourself, then fine but I haven’t found anything you’ve presented to be a compelling reason for a ban.
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
^ She is Taliban of the other side
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
I’m so glad that your “Ameer” doesn’t have a beard. Do you have to call him an Ameer? Does he have some politics power? Do you guys vote for the presidential candidate he tells you to vote for ? Or by kissing his feet you get into heaven?
Why the need to Arabize everything ? Just call him the board of trustees president for the mosque or whatever position he holds.
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
yes, the position is titled “Ameer” … go suck a thumb now ![]()

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
Lets all be respectful towards each other; no one likes to be mocked or ridiculed. We can share what we know if and when we disagree.
Thank you.
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
Why is it never enough PCG?
When you expressed your personal experience, others brought theirs’ to contradict and provide you with an alternative view.
And now that you have at least two other people confirming an observation that is contrary to yours’, you have to attack other aspects?
When will you actually accept that at some point your experience is isolated and you are in the minority?
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
Rather than be obstinate you could foster the concept of discussion…it doesn’t take much to quote, copy paste or even direct to a post number. Might have even taken less time than it took to type the above reply.
I would have done it for you but I guess I can’t read either because I couldn’t find any authentic references that you have provided in this whole thread. The only thing remotely resembling a reference was provided by prototype and that was talking only about niqab in ihram.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
I actually posted a verse.
33:59…describes how to wear clothes and interact with men so that “you may be recognized”.
I posted how the Khimar means cloth and how it can be interpreted as a traditional head dress or just as “cloth”. I cited Fatima Mernissi’s work which I’ve read myself. There are others but won’t quote them because haven’t read them first hand myself.
I showed the lack of Hadith regarding punishments for women not covering their hair.
Multitudes of ayats describing what you need to get into heaven in a nutshell. And a scrap of cotton on your head isn’t one of them.
How much more proof? Asra Nomani published a great article in swap recently and she also describes all this proof in detail.
A clear Hadith describing what should be covered and face isn’t one of them.
Clear ayats that refer to “bosom” and broadly “ornaments” as areas to be covered. Face is never mentioned in the Quran.
In all the rebuttles I’ve seen here, no one has posted an ayat or Hadith that states face MUST be covered. Some Hadith here and there that mention this was a practice of Aisha R which seems to be more security related based on the historical context.
So onus is on you guys. If you think it is necessary to cover the face, where is the proof?
I think the biggest is where the Quran outright tells women they need to be recognizable in public. I don’t know how one could go against that. Quran publications translated under influence of Saudi or Wahabbi followers actually has different translations on this. Yusuf Ali, Pickthall predate the rise of SA as a country so they’re way more reliable and recognized as very reliable translations.
So check where your translation is coming from. Most of what you find today is actually Wahabbi influenced translations.
Non-niqabis are not a minority, we are a majority. Percentage wise only small numbers are covering their faces.
Again to remind people I’m not talking about hijab although the Quranic verses I’ve described don’t mandate a head covering. The Hadith I’ve mentioned does. But that’s as a recommendation from Muhammad SAW and he certainly did not persecute women who didn’t cap their hair or who maybe had half their head showing or locks of hair showing under their head dress. No mention of these things at all which Muslims today make it an end all be all issue.
He certainly didn’t tell people that didn’t cover as much as others that their iman is incomplete or flawed. As people today openly do on Facebook.
Again, if you guys feel this is such an obligatory aspect of Islam then YOU present the proof. Absence of such commands is actually proof, not the lack of proof.
And nice try Muzna you have been baiting me and bothering me and insulting me this whole thread. Have I attacked you? No. Have I attacked anyone personally here? No. So I do follow Islam. People who personally attack others or bait them, sorry no piece of cotton is helping you in the after life.
And all that I posted in this post has been posted repeatedly. By bullying me into reposting, it’s a simple bully tactic to frustrate the poster. You’re not actually interested in hearing the other perspective.
And if I am in the minority, I celebrate that. Muhammad did say that at the end of times, true believers of the faith would be in the minority.
