Should the Niqab be banned?

Definition of Niqab: cloth covering the face. Facial veil.

-It’s a security risk

-Pattern that we see progressive educated women tending to be NON-NIQABIS.

-Hadith’s support that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) designated what areas should be covered and face is not one of them.

-Prophet Muhammad (SAW) never enforced a dress code, and no evidence of him enforcing covering of the head either. Therefore, burqas/hijabs/niqabs cannot be enforced. This de-legitamizes laws in Saudia Arabia regarding dress codes, and perpetuates the terrorist mentality. The “You have to do what I say, or I kill you”.

-Lack of any verse in the Quran stating to cover the face, in fact, a verse from what I remember that says in one translation “Speak to the men so that they see your face”. This may be translated differently in different translations, but it’s what’s in mine.

-sign that this is a mark of the ISIS folks so likewise back in 600 A.D. Muhammad (SAW) may (unsure of this evidence really) encouraged growing of beards to set muslims apart from non-muslims, maybe we need to not wear the niqab to set ourselves apart from the Khareeji’s that are causing problems today. Because the act of separating yourself by dress would be more in line with Muhammad (SAW) rather than the particular dress that was chosen to set yourself apart.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

Yes.
Along with tight pants women wear.
And any thing smaller then that.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

If banning niqab means no wars, no regime-changes, no support for apartheid regimes, no support for terrorist countries… I am with you :chai:

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

I think the face veil should be banned in public spaces.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

It should be banned for men

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

yeh masaail-e-mazaahib, yeh teraa ilm-e-deenii

:hehe:

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

Ok guyz, its official now. PCG has just got a rishta from a member of bikers’ gang. Ofcourse being a mashriqi kurri, she’s to oblige the wishes coming from her susrali rishtedar.
Now we all must agree with whatever the susrali demands are.. :khumar:

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

So you dont want them to wear pants or smaller? Toba Toba, kon log ho tussi.. :ast:

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

Monk only wants his men in tight pants. hi5 monk

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

We've to do a lil patchup b/w PCG and monk so their partial demands can be met.

So from now on, only those women will wear niqab who have tight pants or smaller.. and vice versa.

Dono khush??

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

Why are we even discussing women's choice. It is up to her at the end of the day. Like-wise if a woman choose not to wear it. At the end..it all comes down to her choice and her belief. Why are we "banning" because some "terrorist" women wear it too. I.e, ISIS women. This is coming from someone who prefers non-hijabi women.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

Hide the women and children. This thread may make Netanyahu blush.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

^ well said @KKF

About the topic:

When Prophet (SAW) said about covering parts of the body, he (SAW) pointed towards the face and hands (not arms) when he(SAW) said ‘except this and this’ … how many ‘liberal’ / ‘modern’ , ‘secular’ women follow that (referring sleeveless dresses) when they say they want to follow the part of this hadith when it comes to niqaab ?

“…and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their khumur over their bosoms…” (30:24)

AND Do these women follow this part ? What happens when they wear fitted clothes revealing body shapes ?

Kindly also emphasize on what Quran and hadiths tell to do when you quote parts from same scriptures about what is NOT said. Thanks !

Niqaab is a personal preference about one’s understanding of deen and its interpretations AND about parts of THEIR body they dont want to reveal. Just like someone cannot dare tell you to what not to wear, you are equally wrong in telling them the same. So lets stick to what we normally say in such arguments : Dont judge , to each their own, religion is a personal matter, blah blah, etc etc.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

The amount of ignorance, illiteracy and lack of self-knowledge/reflection is very high in OP. Makes it difficult to discuss matters.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

Its a symbol of backwardness justified through religion. Only if we could ban backwardness.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

P.S. I would really like to know which ayah of Quran says "speak to men so that they see your face" ! Otherwise please remove this part from your post if you fail to give reference.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

what are the statistics? how many niqabi women have been involved in terror attacks or taken lives?

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?

Agreed.

All terrorists wear clothes.... whats next banned item? :D

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
