Can you please reference those ahadith and ayaat that explicitly contradict the habit of covering the face? If those ahadith are recorded in any of the books, then you’ll easily find book number, and hadith number for reference, and if there are ayaat supporting your claim then you will easily find reference to the tafseer of Quran from one of the early predecessors who spent their entire lives understanding the Quran, and sharing what they’ve learnt.
I fear that we all often get so charged up in what we’re passionate about (and it’s good to be passionate about things in life) that we go farther than the limits of caution. It’s almost like if I visit WebMD 7 days a week, and expect people to take my advise as certified diagnosis instead of seeing a matter Expert. It can be dangerous to be armed with little knowledge and no background to base that knowledge on, or a foundation to build upon. May Allah protect us all from our inner vices.

Terrorists use guns and bombs, why not ban them for a change, shall we?

I’m not talking about hijabs or abayas or cultural dresses in general. I’m talking specifically about the niqab. It’s not about dictating to women what they can’t wear. This is a TOXIC DISGUSTING dress. It’s psychologically damaging. It’s paralyzing our community, and yes, when the rest of us are stigmatized because of a few women who think running around under bedsheets bumping into walls because they can’t see and they think they’re going to Heaven for this - like screw that. These people are RUINING our lives. RUINING them.
You guys aren’t going to understand until they start rounding you up and putting you in concentration camps and deporting you or drafting you to drop bombs on innocent people because YOU’RE muslim. Because of these kinds of stubborn people who think their *** piece of head cloth is more important than YOUR safely and the SAFETY OF YOUR COMMUNITY , you will end up suffering. We already are.
We are increasingly getting marginalized because when people think “Islam”, images of these women come up in people’s minds, and I don’t blame people for not being able to relate to a couple of chics who think they’re getting into heaven because of their headgear. It’s pure insanity.
Can you share your personal experience of getting marginalized ?

So according your logic, only two salaat are farz as opposed to five since only two salaat explicitly named in Quran?
By the way, help me find a passage from Quran where it tells us how to perform wazu and how to pray namaaz.
Isn’t this how many arabs and their influenced pakistanis pray? I am not even talking about taraweeh here where they pray 8 and stand there talking as taraweeh is not farz.
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
Mahool it’s not my personal experience because I don’t allow people to bully me religiously but there is not one masjid I’ve come across or a religious extracurricular group except the one I run, that allows non hijabis or non bearded men to be in any positions. In fact, many groups don’t allow non hijabis to even show up to group meetings and seminars etc.
And muzna, please stop it with your snide bullying.

I know what my future holds. You, thankfully, have no control over that.

Wow…you really need to get out and about PCG.
I know of several groups that allow non-hijabis to hold leadership positions. And mosques that have non-bearded men in charge. (And I’m the brainwashed one )
Snide bullying? Nah…there’s simply no need. Then I would remind myself of you.
so I guess you don’t believe in destiny either…

I’m not hijabi and I serve on several committees for my masjid. We’ve had 2 non hijabi women on the Board as well. Not one single one of the men on our BoD has a beard. My husband is also the lead of one the committees and he most definitely isn’t bearded lol. Our head of the finance committee is a non practicing women born Hindu, married to a Muslim man. And this is in a suburb of the same place you used to live. I’m sorry you’re experiences have been different and it’s incredibly frustrating, I agree, but it’s not fair to make sweeping generalizations like that.

Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
I have, and to the best of my comprehension have only found opinions begging to be taken as authentic sources. No ahadiths with reference, and no ayaat with reference to support the claim(s) made throughout including the most recent one and I quote “contradicting the habit of wearing hijab”. Please aid my understanding and point out the hadiths that you’re leaning on for support.
Little Knowledge=Dangerous.
Using little knowledge to pass rulings = disastrous.
Re: Should the Niqab be banned?
I’ve actually given quotes. Not my problem you can’t read.

In the same city I was told I can’t stand in a common anteroom because I’m a girl by some dirtbag Wahabbi. I was wearing a dupatta that wasn’t enough.

And khatti you have mentioned before that you go there in an abaya. I doubt you’re walking in your work clothes.
