Sounds to me like he's stringing you along, you're probably his backup since he knows you like him..... I say delete him from your life. Nothing will ever come out of this relationship. Yes, you'll be heartbroken for a few months, but it will be better for you over the long run... forget him.

I just wanted to say sorry, because I won't be happy unless if I say sorry to you. Yes, I know I did get mad at you for absolutely no reason. I know that, and I am not going to act like you made me mad, because you didn't, I admit that. I guess I would of said sorry, but you said you don't care, which alone said a lot. Obviously you don't care if I say sorry or not either, but I do care if I say sorry or not to you. You also said, you'll see how long I keep acting this way with you, have fun. You indirectly just told me I "need" you or something along those lines, no I don't need you, and I NEVER did need you. I also don't want to end our friendship on a bad note, and I won't...I'm sorry... Bye(:

When people say 'I don't care' that DOES NOT MEAN they MEAN it.
The 'I don't care' is said so many times in anger so just because he said I don't think you should hold it against him.
