How about you get a present for your MIL?
Why does everything have to be a set way?

Agree.
Consider ways to strengthen the relationship after the argument you had with your fiance. If he's STILL upset and distant with you...it seems unreasonable to think of receiving a gift from him/his mom.
Also, I went back and read your post and you mentioned that your sister tells you that her MIL will be sending her an Eid gift. Your MIL and fiance/husband.........will be different from your sister's MIL/in-laws. Your cousins' in-laws....your friends' in-laws....your neighbors' in-laws will be different from yours. If you continuously compare your situation with others......it can result in feelings of jealousy/resentment....which are not a healthy state of mind AND which can potentially destroy your relationships.
Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
what did you do before mil was around.
why the hostile treatment? there have been millions of silly/lame/unbelieavle discussions on this forum literally abt everything.. so y dont u girls just respond to this one aswell :P
Crazy fool: how are u doing now? better? i do think u will get eidi in whatever form that is, but y wud u expect that... its something extra...
btw how can ur MIL be in america for past 4 months, when u were just talking abt ur inlaws few weeks ago... maybe i wasnt paying attention...
Silly/lame/unbelievable are all subjective.
My MIL is in america since past 4 months, she will be spending her eid there as well. My FIL and brother in law are also goin to america in ramadan and might spend eid there. its not confirmed yet. so it will be my fiance alone in pakistan. should i expect eidi and clothes?
last year my MIL took me shopping for eid clothes she did not give me like traditional MIL's give stitched clothes but told me to go with her and choose what i like. and gave me eidi too..
so what about this year? my sisters continuously telling me that her MIL will bring her jora and etc so i dont know. should i be expecting or its wrong of me to expect??
A rule of success in marriage is never to expect anything. And if you get something, anything, appreciate it genuinely. And don't let peer pressure steer you into thinking as if certain things should happen in a certain way.
Silly/lame/unbelievable are all subjective.
u know what i mean..........

Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
I don't think you should expect a gift.
Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
Wow...
Is she your mommy? Does she also buy you diapers?
Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
And can someone explain to me why you wouldn't ask your husband to get you an eid jora? Isn't it the husband's job to provide luxuries like that if he can afford it? What a crass guy to have his mom buying clothes for his wife. Chamcha kahin ka.
LOL…most awesomest reponse so far :k:
Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
i am just got engaged in March
should i expect a jora too ?
Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
Swap MILs with your sister, thou life shalt be blissful. Plus you might get a little extra eidi from your FIL after the swap. Who knows.

lol i agree with pcg... chamcha kahi ka
i thought she said she is just engaged...well my dear dont expect anything from anybody....if your MIL get you a dress then just be happy and thank her and if she didnt then dont make it a big deal....if you take small things to heart then life will be like hell so dont bother it and look forward to ramadan and eid
if your mother in law is in usa for eid then why dont you get her suit and send her...she will be really happy and i am sure your fiane will be more happy

Concentrate on Ramdan, fasting and praying. Forget about eid ka jora. if you want one so much, get one stitched for yourself. prob kiya hai?
