Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
Some people are so selfish its unreal, it's always ME ME ME. Do not expect anything. Why? Because nobody in life owes you anything.

Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
your MIL sounds like a nice lady to me because she wanted you to have clothes of your choice. Now considering that she gives so much importance to your preference if she does not send you eidi once what difference would it make ? what you used to do before you got engaged for your eid outfits ? I think it matters to you so much because you want to have something to show to your family & friends and because your sister is getting her eidi so it's kind of a competition for you now.
my dear friend please grow up. these are very minor things . your MIL seems like a nice lady value her and don't give so much of attention on these dena dilana stuff. Waisay I am quite sure you will get something from your susraal , may be after eid or may be some other member from your inlaws get you something for your eidi.
Crazyfool, Im sorry if this offends your, but you really need to grow up, if you continue like this, it might ruin your relationship with your inlaws.
Your mil sounds super nice, you should do something for her, take her out to dinner, shopping?
Treat like you would treat your own mother.
Many desi mil's can be really nasty and cruel, but your fortunate to have something good going on, don't ruin it for your self.
Insted of thinking me me me all the time, why don't you do something nice for your inlaws....
I don't know about you, but for me, seeing my inlaws enjoying a day that I planned makes meee SO happy!!
I can't explain it, but when I go shopping with them, or we go out for dinner or lunch, even brunch and they smile laugh and go beta this puttar (my fil is as punjabi as they get :D) that and tell stories about something, or offer their fashion advice or whatever, it just makes me melt :p ...
It's really like having 2 sets of parents, and it's so much fun, in the beginning, I was super shy, and I would avoid my mil, come up with excuses etc, but now, I have so much fun with them, I've gotten so close to then, that when my fil went to pak I made a tiny list of thing I wanted, and I even gave him money for them, and we had this huge arguement that he would not take any money from etcetc and he was like "tum meri beti nahin ho?! Am I a stranger, since you are paying me" my mil was laughing her ass of ....
He fact that they get me gifts does not even come any close to their love for me, and our shopping trips and dinners, I love hanging out with them, and just chill ... They're so funny and adoreble ...
Last year in my bday, they where I PAK, and I was throwing this huge bday party, and they surpriced me, they were not comeing back for 2 more weeks, but they came to my party and I was so touched!
My fiancé even says that sometimes he thinks they love me more them him haha (I hope ;p)
Re: Should i expect eid jora or not?
its so easy to expect, only because we compare everyone to our mums, and because we know our mums would go to the end of the earth and beyond for us, we also think they would that for our brothers wives, which makes us think WE should get the same treatment from our MIL's.
My MIL is in america since past 4 months, she will be spending her eid there as well. My FIL and brother in law are also goin to america in ramadan and might spend eid there. its not confirmed yet. so it will be my fiance alone in pakistan. should i expect eidi and clothes?
last year my MIL took me shopping for eid clothes she did not give me like traditional MIL's give stitched clothes but told me to go with her and choose what i like. and gave me eidi too..
so what about this year? my sisters continuously telling me that her MIL will bring her jora and etc so i dont know. should i be expecting or its wrong of me to expect??
and you are married? aap k MIAAAN bhee aisey hee khilandrey lerkey hain ya he is a bit more serious about life? :)
Are you serious?

WOW... okay so when it comes to TAKING stuff, then sure begin the comparisons from MIL to mom...but when it comes to GIVING anything, even basic respect (like wanting to slap an elder!) then comes the "MIL and Mother can never be one!"
