lol i made my list over 4 months ago and my fiance laughed at me..lol…
i havent been able to check off many of the things on my list yet because most of them involve me actually being in pakistan…so far only the venue is confirmed…
everything else like decor, mehandi outfits for me and bridemaid etc., i know what i want with regards to design and color, but i just need to be in pakistan to get it done…and the most important my bridal…

Quick question…if i have all of my bridesmaid and myself holding flowers walking into my baraat will it look weird in Pakistan? Its common overseas but none of the weddings i went to in pakistan years ago had that so not sure how modern things are now…i dont want to be labelled as being too western by my guests…

$4000-$5000 is a hell lot and rouge gets a great bridal done in 300,000 as well...give faraz mannan a call and talk to him about ur range and ask him to send u a sketch.

also, taufiq hussain can do a wonderful jora for u in dat range...the ones i saw with him were 200-275ish kee range mein and dey were gorgeous...talk to him too.
p.s. faraz mannan is da rouge guy...

im kinda debating if i wanna spend that much on my dress now...I didnt realize there are nice obtions for less..never really looked into the prices for the bridal pics i liked before..i was just searching online and it seems that i can get a really nice bridals for about 185,000-275,000.

^You can definitely get amazing joras for much less. And why not use the money you save towards other things, like your honeymoon or jewelery?

Bunto is not outside your price range (she starts at RS 300,000), but she's definitely outside your time frame because I highly doubt she's still taking orders for March weddings. Otherwise, I'd say she's someone you could easily trust to take your order over phone or email and your jora would come out amazing. Obviously I'm biased, but I'd say the same for Haroon. With any designer though, you can make their job a lot easier if ordering from overseas if you've seen pics of their joras before...that way, you can refer to a picture and tell them what you'd like to keep and change about a particular style.

Yup, I totally agree with fasadi. You budget is more than adequate and you can easily get a designer dress in that.

Royal Palm. Lahore

I notice there are loads of threads telling how good Royal Palm is and a few pictures that have been copied and pasted from their website, but i was wondering whether anyone has actually got some pictures of an actual wedding there or actual pictures of the building and grounds?????

Its a bit late as i have just booked it for my wedding in January but im still a little nervous as to how everything is presented.

Has anybody on this site ever had or experienced a wedding at the Royal Palm???

well i emailed a couple of designers today asking about the amount of time they would require so hopefully at least some of them will say 1-2months...i remember sending a message to Chinyere Couture on facebook about a bridal dress for my friend a month ago ‏and they had said it would take about 1 month....

My mom is completely against the idea of me ordering it before she or I see it. She says its too much money to order without see it in person agruing that the color and kaam can look very different compared to pics...she has a valid point...so i know i will never be able to convince her..so now i can only search to find a designer who can make bridals in 1-2 months...... any sugguests?

My friend here in Lahore is getting hers made from a designer ammara in karachi. She met her personally here in Lahore to discuss details. She is making it for her for 275k in two months. I can get details if you want

Going by the reviews for Rouge around here, I would suggest you don't go with them. They seem quite notorious for horrible customer service.

Chinyere has beautiful stuff and so do Karma and HSY.. although I heard the latter is booked up till next summer.

I have a feeling im going to have to get a custom bridal outfit made by a non-designer if all the good ones are booked....i guess i'll wait and see the responses i get from my emails...

i guess the benefit of having a custom made one is that i wont have to worry about other brides wearing the same thing..lol...trying to make myself feel better lol since im probably not gonna get the bridal i want...

Hi...I've attended a few weddings at royal palm. sorry dont have any pics, but I'll tell u this that you don't need to worry. they have two marquees and a hall inside which is on the 2nd floor. The marquees are bigger and can accommodate around 700-800 (i'm guessing) or more. the hall inside is low ceilinged and more approprate for a smaller gathering.

The weddings I attended had a professional do the decor. btw, the marquees are completely water-proof.

karma said that they can complete bridal outfits in 4-5 weeks. Fahad Hussayn however said they are booked for feb 2010 so if i want my bridal for March i would have to book now..so i cant use them....

So as of right now i think my bridal is gonna be Karma, which is fine i love some of there bridal outfits...

Still waiting for some emails from other designers...

I have booked the Dome hall as i am not from Pakistan and don't have alot of family there. The pictures look very nice, but i know from experience pictures can make anything or anyone look good!!!

What was the food like? And would you say that the hall compares with mughal e azam, pc, avari etc etc???

I've attended a wedding in the dome hall, and honestly, it's really nice. the decor is actually better than the outdoor marquee. and believe me, the pictures do it justice. you won't be disappointed inshAllah. the hall has big glass doors at one end and they open up onto a terrace where the food was served...the view is amazing coz it overlooks the golf course. but, i don't know if they'll do that for you if it's too cold.

the food was good. I don't like the shaadi food at pc or avari, so I'd say this is definitely better than that. as far as just the hall, it's better than avari and mughal-e-azam, and the smaller halls at pc.

but I'll tell you this, having your shaadi at royal palm has become the "in" thing these days...so, you should rest assured :)
