whew ...scarlett you eased my mind as well :) my wedding is gonna take place inshallah in end of october n we had the dome hall booked ....but lately i was getting worried as i had no idea how the food was over there and hadn't seen any real wedding pics ....n you can't get much idea when you visit the hall during the day how it would look after being decorated .....i hope it looks good :)

You really need to go to Taufiq Hussain- has his own website if you type his name into google
very respectable man, treats everyone with respect, excellent customer serivce, ordered both walima and bridal outfits from him..
He designs according to his client and none of his designs are repeated. A true designer! His website even does not do him justice as he is better than that. He will always incorporate your ideas, likes and dislikes in his designs. Mention my name when you go to see him!

I didn't want to start another thread on the over done topic of "wedding halls in Lahore" but i have few questions regarding Defence Club...and the halls they have (2 of them),
which is better?
does any body have pictures or information abt the halls?
do they have everything avlb. inhouse (food, decorations etc) or can we use our own?
how are the guest rooms?
I knw few ladies here on GS had their wedding functions at defence club...so please HELP!

Like u, i have all my guests coming from abroad only so not more dan a gathering of 120 for mehendi and 270 for weddin n valima.my wedding and valima are IA both outdoor events, being held at Jasmine Garden DHA and Model Town D-ground block respectively (Catering by deewan-e-khaas). one thing we considered was distance from my place (since all guests wud b staying dere or close by).both mehendi n wedding venues r 5min drive from my house-makes everything very convenient.
hey.. good luck with all the wedding preps to you and fari. just one thing, we had a horrible experience with deewan-e khaas on wedding day in terms of food (we had booked the hall too) .. so be careful with that.

Is Royal Palm's Bab-ul-Shams open banquet area or is it a proper hall??
Is their any hall in Royal Palm which can fit up to 700 people.. and what price do they quote per head?

agreed. it’s definitely a status thing, there’s really nothing to rave about . in my opinion, the food should be the main concern because that’s what’ll stick longest with most Pakistani invitees. you could have a smashing setup and décor, but if the food bombs, the function follows. that said, the food at RP is nothing special. i’ve been to four or five weddings, and the menu selections didn’t impress. once or twice the *quormas *were downright bad.

These are their newest prices; *"Rs.1100/-+ 16%Tax Per Person with ChickenRs.1250/-+16% Tax Per Person with Mutton*BEVERAGES*MINERAL WATER *ADDITIONAL RS. 65/- *ASSORTED SOFT DRINKS *ADDITONAL RS. 55/-ORTEA / COFFEE / GREEN TEA *ADDITIONAL RS. 25/-KASHMIRI TEA *ADDITIONAL RS: 50/-Banarsi Pan RS: 20/-Note:-1- Advance deposit of 50% at confirmation & balance 15 days before the event takes place.2- Timings for Lunch are from 12 noon till 3:00 pm & for Dinner *from 7:00PM till 10:00PM3- The management can revise the rates without prior information4- Children under 5 years will not be charged; up to 10 years are charged 50% & above are full charged5- Floral Décor through approved vendors on the panel of Royal Palm.6- In case of cancellation more than 30 days before the event, full advance amount will be refunded but in cancellation less than 30 days, no advance will be refunded."

What about stage decor n floral decorations n stuff? what all is included and what do u have to pay for extra?
so if im not mistaken for d chicken menu ur paying 1100 plus cost for drinks...

Nope, I dnt hav a clue as of yet. Since the wedding is end of this year & we've not contacted any of the decor people do get quotes, our main priority was to book within our convenient dates. Now that we've done that, I'll need to get the stage n decor sorted too.

we're going Pak in December, the stage decor people can arrange stuff within a week or two waise bhi. That's what they told me..
